best place to meditate and be peaceful!!!!
I've lived right by Discovery Park for the last two years and for some reason never explored the parkway trail until yesterday. It was absolutely great! So many happy people and beautiful fall colors.. My goal is to ride to Sac State once a week instead of taking the car, at least until it starts raining.
I live downtown and ride the parkway pretty regularly year round. On weeknights when there is less time, I ride from Discovery Park to the Guy West bridge and then return through town via J street. On weekends I will ride all the way to Sunrise bridge if I feel up for the distance. It is almost 48 miles round trip.
I have made the trip all the way to Folsom Lake on several occasions but those last few miles are much more hilly than the lower part of the trail.

I've been living near the trail for three years now and never knew it was there! I'm going to ride from CSUS to downtown this weekend!
This is a fabulous resource. I run and cycle along the parkway.
I love riding my bike on the American River Parkway! I recently made a short term goal of making it to Sunrise and back to Howe. My long term goal is to do the whole trail in one day...60 miles round trip.
