c/Greenways/McAlpine+Creek.htm
Charlotte's original Greenway Park, McAlpine Creek Greenway, built in 1978, was the first public greenway trail ever acquired and built in the western piedmont of North Carolina.
Features include 8.9 miles of greenway, cross country trails, and nature trails off of Monroe Road.

McMullen Greenway also does not smell. It is a great trail to walk, run, or ride bikes. There are several places to enter, one end starts off Rea near Trader Joes and the other side is near Johnston and Hwy 51.
McAlpine Greenway is off Monroe Rd. not in Pineville. I've never noticed any sewage smell in that area - you must be thinking of another place.
i have been there but it was a long time ago...what i remember was the horrible smell of raw sewage....i notice it everytime i go anywhere near pineville.....my husband told me that the creek is a connector to the waste water treatment plant. i dunno just wondered if it still smells
I live just up Sardis from the Greenway but have never been. Does anyone have any pointers for my first stroll/hike/crawl?
Where is McMullen Greenway? (hwy 51)
We were out on the Hwy 51 greenway (McCullen?) recently. We walked a total of 10 miles! They have connected it to another path, and according to a fellow walker it's now a total of about 10 miles...really pretty wetlands. I love the parts covered in boardwalk.
