Smaller gym, has good equipment. Is VERY busy during peak hours. Love to go there early in the morning. Love the spin class at 5:45AM, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays you have to get there by 5AM to get a spot int the class!

I started to go there 2 mos ago. I agree with the treadmill statement, I had to change 3x this morning just to find one that had a working interval function. Then I couldn't use the workout room. There is one piece of equip that is always being used (cable). Good luck trying to get in on that. I really like the La Jolla gym, small, pretty quiet and very nice staff.
Spin classes are great but you have to get there an hour ahead of time to get a spot if you don't buy your spot at the first of the month!
Needs better ventilation, especially in the stretch room.
Very high use facility.

I've belonged to the gym for about three months now. It's very busy. I usually try to go before or after the post-work rush - so before 4pm or after 7 pm.
I have been very disappointed by the quality of their treadmills. So many of them are frequently broken and the functional ones are often only functional - many of the other features will not work like the fan, the heartrate monitor, the different training programs.
I have taken a few personal training sessions and those have been good. I really benefited from the nutritional advice. I haven't tried any of their classes yet - they seem pretty tough to get into. A lot of them you have to put $1 down in advance to reserve your spot. They always look full.
