Great trail stretching from Ashland up to PA. Perfect place to run, walk, bike, even ride horses!

The NCR trails are our family favorite for biking. They offer lots of shaded and generally flat trails with water spots along side. In the summer you can even jump in and ride the inner tube down stream!
A nice, shaded trail with a wide path. We started at White Hall and headed north. About 2.5 miles north, there is a par course for selected fitness exercises. Include that and return to White Hall, that makes 5.5 miles, a good walk. This trail is popular, so go early before the parking lots fill up.
I love the NCR trail. It is so beautiful! It is perfect for biking and running! I haven't been there in quite a long time, but I used to go often when I was a kid. I miss it!!
One of my favorite bike riding spots. If you are a bird watcher the herons and cardinals this time of year are always a pleasant surprise. If riding early morning you'll hear the cock crow near the PaperMill entrance and be sure to watch for deer who often cross the path to get to the GunPowder river for a refreshing drink - did my first 10 mile ride of the season yesterday and thought the terrain is still gray there were sparks of green on the horizon giving me hope that Spring is in the air!
Remember the rules of the trail. Pedestrians have right of way, so bikes should yield to them. Everyone yields to horses.
If you are passing someone, particularly if you are on a bike, call out "on your left" or "passing on the left" before you go to pass.
Walkers and runners, and I guess bikers too, don't take up too much of the width of the trail. I have been there many times when I had to go off onto the side of the trail because folks were running or walking toward me 3-4 people across, and wouldn't yield. Not very polite!
And clean up any trash you bring and take it home with you, it's the right thing to do.
Thanks, from an NCR Trail Snail

Perfect for runners... the terrain is soft but not too much so, and there are mile markers which makes it my preferred trail over Robt E Lee.
