The Allegheny County Park system, comprised of nine parks and 12,000 acres is a regional treasure enjoyed by more than 11 million visitors annually. The regional parks ring the City of Pittsburgh along the highway route of the orange belt, at a radius of about 15 miles from downtown Pittsburgh. No Allegheny County resident is more than a 20 or 30 minute drive from a county park.
The parks' mix of recreational activities, cultural and educational programming, special events and greenways, provide a myriad of recreational opportunities.
Enjoy ice skating, golf or tennis at North and South Parks; summer concerts at Hartwood; a swim in the wave pool at Settler's Cabin; the animal farm at Round Hill; skiing at Boyce Park, fishing at Deer Lakes Park, or the stunning beauty of fall as you stroll through White Oak or Harrison Hills Parks
Whatever your recreation preference may be, the Allegheny County parks are open 365 days a year for the enjoyment of our residents and guests.
Visit the Allegheny County Parks Department Web site for loads more information and a list of our latest events!

Trails in South Park are great and the half mile Fairgrounds cinder loop often is lit at night for walkers.
Does the Great Allegheny Passage count? I know it's a little drive to McKeesport, but what a great trail system - goes all the way to Cumberland, MD and hooks up with the C&O canal to DC!
Im a North Park fanatic, but hope to get married at the south park, pond gazebo!! its sooo pretty!!
I love all of the county parks, but on Sunday evening in the summertime - Hartwood Acres is the place for a couple hours of R&R while enjoying one of the free concerts.
North Park is the best!
