Underrated to say the least: If you are looking for an adventure in the city, O.P. Schnabel Park is the place to be. The park has plenty of trails, paved and natural. There is a myriad system of trails. You can go for hours and not get bored or even end up on the same trail.
The paved trails are very easy and easily accessible by everyone. Water fountains are available alongside paved trails.
The natural trails range from easy to difficult. The trails are not marked and there are no maps available, so you are pretty much on your own. There are areas on the hills that have sudden drop offs and if you not careful, you can very easily take a spill.
Mountain bike riding is also allowed, and with the endless supply of trails, it affords hours of riding. Provides challenges for beginner and experienced riders.

This park also hosts lots of soccer and baseball/softball games. Great fun for the whole family.
Yes this is a great park with trails...just wish people would keep their dogs contained in their yard! Nothing ruins a walk like a dog running after you!
I have been to Schnabel quite a few times to run, walk and hike. There are a lot of great trails and they can range from easy to very hard. I definitely enjoy this park and there is plenty of wildlife as well.
