There are many great trails in Cheyenne Canyon that lead you through beautiful forest areas and along streams. They range in length from a mile each way to 3-4 miles each direction. It is a great place to get away from the daily grind and surround yourself with nature, plus get a great workout in the meantime. Happy Hiking:) www.springsgov.com/page.asp?navid=3038

I'd love to hear about trails that don't have too much incline, and would be suitable for a solo hike. Not tooo long! Thanks in advance.
There are numerous trails in North Cheyenne Canyon, from the fairly easy Lower Columbine, to the more challenging St. Mary's Falls, accessed up at the top where High Drive and Gold Camp Road intersect. There's also 7 Bridges, the Mid and Upper Columbine, and Mt. Cutler (which branches off to a trail that leads to the summit of Mt Muscoco). Check out the maps on www.springsgov.com or pick up the Pikes Peak Atlas at REI (has all the local and surrounding trails on it).
I can just imagine!! Thanks for the reply.
I haven't been up around HH Falls in the wintertime in 36 years or more. LOL. We used to go up into the Canyon in the winter, but not around the falls. It just never appealed. I wonder if it ever freezes over. that would be quite a lot of water to freeze over.

Yep, Helen Hunt Falls is at Cheyenne Canon. Cutler Trail is fantastic however be careful this time of year on the slick parts of the trails!
Is that where Helen Hunt Falls is? that's a great trail and a great workout. just be careful in the summer to get back down before five, when there is often an afternoon thundershower.
