The HIT Center® is a unique training facility that offers Customized Personal Fitness Training Programs in athletic development (Speed-Up), weight loss (Lighten-Up), and recreational/occupational fitness (HIT FIT) in a scientifically designed exercise environment. Started in 2000 by nationally known exercise physiologist, Dr. Terry Shepherd, The HIT Center® has painstakingly crafted the scientific principles of human physiology, neurology, kinesiology, and myology into client personalized and sport specific training modules.
The HIT Center® applies these principles in a highly charged and intense environment offering the very best and latest exercise protocols. Delivered one-on-one by a degreed and highly trained exercise scientist, these Custom Personal Fitness Training Programs are designed for the client that wants to achieve and retain their highest level of performance for sport competition, recreation, occupation, and or activities of daily living.
Lighten-Up
Whether you’re 8 or 80, an athlete trying to make weight or a baby boomer struggling with Father Time, losing weight and keeping it off is difficult.
Lighten-Up is the culmination of 30 years of research in biochemistry, exercise physiology and thermodynamics. It literally puts science to work for you so that you lose weight in a healthy manner and keep it off…in just six weeks.
Rather than one-size-fits-all solutions like potions, pills and powders, our exercise scientists perform a series of tests to determine how your body processes and uses calories from food…something scientists call the thermodynamic equation. We use this information to develop and implement a customized exercise prescription and eating program tailored specifically for you.
You work one-on-one with your exercise scientist to ensure you’re burning the maximum amount of calories in each session and speeding weight loss.

Throughout the six-week training period, your progress in body composition, caloric expenditure, weight loss and fitness are closely monitored and evaluated so you can see your progress.
At the end of the training period, a re-assessment is completed and compared to the initial assessment.
