Boll Family YMCA

- Submitted by DRMIMIKH - 1 Comments

Resource Details Below

Just opened in December 2005, the downtown Detroit Boll Family YMCA is remarkable. Not only does it have the typical Y amenities, this shiny new facility houses a large theater, a 38-foot climbing wall, running track, massage therapy, a day care center, and a separate locker room for families and those with special needs. You'll find classes in dance, spinning, martial arts, aerobics, aquatics, rowing, and too many more to list. Any current YMCA membership can be upgraded to include the Boll facility. Some unique (for Ys) programs are offered as well, such as those in web design, photography, ceramics, and African dance. Rent the center for birthday parties or other events. Contact the center directly for details and membership prices. Getting There: Located between John R. and Grand River, just south of Comerica Park. From I-75, take the Madison exit. From Madison, turn left on John R and make another left on Broadway.

Chef Meg's Slow Cooker Vegetable Curry

Slow cookers aren't just for meat! This is a tasty, affordable one-pot vegetarian meal that's filling and perfect for your slow cooker. You can also add shrimp during the last 20 minutes of cooking. If the dish is a little too spicy for the kids, add 1 Tablespoon of plain yogurt to their serving. Serve with a glass of milk and a cucumber salad. Full Recipe
