This is a great park to walk in, as it has plenty of trail length and variety of scenery. Enjoy the nature, ducks, and trails. Plus, there are markings to help.

I used to run at Brown park on my lunch hours but I changed jobs, so I am not close anymore. I miss it! It is a great little park!
I've been trying to find someone to walk with in Brown Park 1 evening a week.
don't forget Joe Creason park by the zoo (corner of Newburg and Trevillian)...I'm not sure the length but there are some big hills if you want to challenge yourself! Ít's a nice walk too...lots of nature. You turn like you are going into the Nature Center (across from the zoo) but turn right instead of going into the center. It will take you to where to park for the trail.
Two laps around Des Pres is a mile :)
Thanks for the info on Brown Park. Does anyone know how many laps around Des Pres Park on Lowe Road off Taylorsville Road would equal a mile ?
Browns Lane Park is my favorite park to walk in. I don't like perfectly round, flat walking tracks and this park has a wandering trail through the woods with rolling hills and lots of scenery. There are a lot of trees, grass, and a little creek that runs through it so it's usually cooler. Four trips around is two miles.
