Keeping Those Calories Down!

It's so hard for me to do... I don't know about you. But let's try to set a goal and at least observe or measure how we're doing. We can withhold judgment at this point. The point is to become aware.

Here's where I am in the early afternoon today --- not so great when you consider that I am still so hungry, and I have a lot more hours left in the day. I do think that I have overestimated some of the calories here, so I have a little breathing room, but it's still a wake-up call.

Nutty Buddy?

That was just to get your attention... but a buddy can be such a help, as Loquacious Lady has already shown me. She motivated me to make a daily commitment to doing two sets of 12-15 crunches with twists. Thanks, LL! You're a great buddy. I'm a new team coleader

I am glad to be a part of this team. I have realized when I eat "healthy" I don't have many problems with IBS except there are some healthy foods that I have to stay away from. I noticed I cannot have melons, romaine lettuce, butter, honey nut cheerios even, and sorbitol which is in sugar free gum which fights me through when I'm hungry. When I have a bad weekend of eating unhealthy or snacking on my cravings like ice cream or pizza, my stomach is not excited. So I have been doing well controlling my IBS without meds, even though when I don't eat healthy I take Levbid... any one heard of it? I'd love to chat with any members. Good luck team.

Hello, I'm a new co-leader!

Thanks to Linda for inviting me to participate as a leader. I've offered to share my own personal experiences as I try to manage my stomach problems ... and to share resources (articles, products, etc.) that might be worth a read or a try. Today's topic: spirulina. I tried it a few days ago... just one pill, and I was in agony about three hours later. Has anybody else tried this product? Mine was combined with bee pollen, but I suspect it was the spirulina that caused the cramping.

I'm providing a link to a Medline Plus web page about spirulina. It doesn't seem to indicate stomach upset as a side effect. Should I try it again?
