I saw an article on sparkpeople about the waist to hip ratio calculator. I tried it out and it said .85 and up was obese and meant a high risk of health issues. Well it kind of freaked me out because I got a .96. I am 5 foot 3, I weigh 126 pounds. I don't think I am obese! My waist is 27.25 and my hips are 28. Does anyone know how I would track this exercise in the tracker. I originally thought SURFING, but the calories burned is not anywhere near what they say on the website and in the class. I'd love a suggestion on workouts that are easy on the knees. I've been doing Jillian Michaels Shred workout dvds, as well as Preventions 3-2-1 circuit workout. My left knee can't take any bouncing (like with jumping jacks) or squats, and it is difficult to complete the workout if I put all the pressure onto my right knee. How do you get your heart rate up without bouncing? I live in Montana so often indoor workouts are better. If you know of any dvd's that might be okay, please ... I have bulging discs, spurs and severe bone degradation in my thoracic and lumbar region, plus I have also torn a tendon in my right shoulder. I worked out for an hour today and it says 0 workout minutes and 68 calories burned. This was with a 38 minute kickboxing workout and 30 minute abs (I know it wont show much with the abs but cardio was also done with this workout) The minutes are wrong and the calories are wrong. I have a floor bike that I use. I sit on a chair and it is like a recumbent bike. I really enjoy it. I also use 2lb hand weights every few minutes thought out my workout. Should I be doing that? Okay, I'm totally bought in to the idea that the way you make muscles get stronger is you work them to failure, and I do that with every strength training exercise I do except back extensions (cause I've been warned that the line between training intensity and injury is really gray). But I cannot work my glutes to failure. I can get a bit of a burn, and I can make my quads give out, but I haven't found anything I can do that makes my glutes feel anything more than a lactic acid burn, that's...
