My measurements have stayed the same, and my weight has stayed the same or gone between the same 2-3 lbs for 3 weeks now. So my calorie range is 1400-1700 normally (when I eat 1500 I feel like I'm going to faint or be sick), and when I burn 300-400 cals during a workout, it bumps it up, so I eat more. Tue, 10 Mar 2015 09:59:48 EST Pacing workouts - kettlebells, dumbells videos, I general work out at home with one community fitness class per week.. Recently I have been mostly doing the 25 minute video from the Ultimate kettle bells for beginners since it combines strength and cardio. I also do Sarah Lurie's 1st disk which seems to be more strength. In the past I used dumbbells more. Other videos incorporate strength in a circuit format. Do these cardio/ strength workouts count as strength and should I limit the number of days? I also use my C2 rower and walk. Does a... Tue, 10 Mar 2015 09:38:07 EST How sore is too sore? I recently have been adding to my workout routine - started with Walk At Home DVD's and have moved forward to meet more specific goals (weight training, core strengthening, etc) I knew I'd be sore, and to an extent that feels good. I mean, I could still walk and everything (I assume that's a good sign, lol) but stairs were a tough (I could still do them, but didn't want to be running up and down as usual... I am back and ready to track my strength training and can't find the access. It used to be very easy and intuitive. I'd like to go to the area where I can look over core, upper, and lower body exercises and create my program, then log it. Also, there was an area that created programs for you when you put in your level, how many minutes you had, area to concentrate on, and number of days you want to work out. How do I get to that? The problem is, the workouts I do are mostly interval, alternating upper and lower body exercises with weights and cardio. The problem arise... Wed, 11 Feb 2015 12:25:40 EST Workout Generator & Reps/Sets Hey all! I recently discovered the work out generator and LOVE it! I should have asked this before I started, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing my workouts wrong.

My question is: It often will say reps @ 15 with 2 sets. So, do that mean I do my 15 reps & move on to the next exercise & come back to finish it? Or do my 15 reps, rest then do the next 15 reps?

Thanks for the help, I am hoping it makes sense! Wed, 11 Feb 2015 12:12:44 EST Will Walking or Exercising Lower my Blood Sugar? I got good news about my A1C yesterday. It went from 7.7 down to 6.5 224 . I checked my BS after breakfast and it was 203. Yikes! I walked 20 minutes around Meijer. I've set a goal of 20 minutes per day of exercise, either walking or a video workout.

I also got the test result for my thyroid which is a very low 0.2. I can break out into a sweat really easily so that may be contributing to it.

Any ideas or advice? Wed, 11 Feb 2015 11:55:12 EST Becoming Friends with Exercise I wrote the below as a blog post but thought it might be helpful to someone, that might be in the same boat:

I am feeling sore from my workouts but not too sore which it good. I have the bad habit of overdoing my workouts when I start out and it’s always been my downfall. In the past I’ve started out slowly the first few days and then I think, I should be doing something more, all those people swear by P90X and Insanity workouts I should kick it up a notch. I barely get through the... Wed, 11 Feb 2015 10:29:10 EST Has anyone tried T25? Hey all! Wondering if anyone else has completed T25? Did you have good results? Did you stick with the nutrition guide as well? I just started and I really like it so far, so just wondering if anyone has any thoughts about it. I also don't like to follow nutrition plans like that because I am not going to buy Shakeology, and I am pretty picky about what I eat. I still eat well, but I do it my own way. Hoping I still get results even if I don't follow the nutrition plan.
Thanks! Tue, 10 Feb 2015 23:10:51 EST 15 Mile Walk: Cycling Vs Walking Fitness? I'm having some issues in deciding how to train for a possible 15 mile charity walk.

I'm currently following a targeted training plan on my indoor bike trainer, as well as doing a core / weights programme. My fitness on the bike and body tone have definitely improved. I can do 1 hour 45 minutes on the trainer now.

Previous to starting with cycling, I could walk 5 miles on a route that has some very steep hills in under 1 hour 18 minutes. This was pushing myself to walk ... Tue, 10 Feb 2015 20:38:17 EST Planet Fitness 30 min Circuit - Tracking I just completed my first PF 30 min circuit. It was hard, but well worth it. How do you track it with your exercise? There are so many machines and activities, I want to be able to track all of my work. Thanks! 85 Tue, 10 Feb 2015 18:16:27 EST Pacer Pedometer App Friends Hi There,

I could really use some support with my pedometer. It's so much more motivating when you have others along for the ride. If you use Pacer for iPhone. Please add me!

PacerID: S2619454 Tue, 10 Feb 2015 14:46:46 EST Working Out Everyday? Maybe I'm a little overzealous but after a set back(gained half of the weight back and being depressed about it for months) I'm ready to get back on track and lose the weight again. However I want it off healthy but fast. So I was going to work out everyday, maybe even do "two-a-days". Is that a good way to lose weight or should I only work out every other day? Should I do strength training or cardio more? Thanks for the feedback. Tue, 10 Feb 2015 13:04:04 EST Heavy Labour I do house renovations in the summer on my 150 year old money pit. I've been trying to find a way to calculate the number of calories burned per hour.

I disagree with the people who say "oh, it doesn't count because your body is used to it after 6 weeks" Your muscles might get more used to the labour, but at the end of the day, you still ache so much that climbing into the bathtub is an effort. I'm guessing those that say it doesn't count have never really done heavy physical labo... Tue, 10 Feb 2015 11:51:01 EST Cardio question??? Being that im jobless temporarily. Im usually stuck in the house do to weather. If you were in my shoes; how long would you exercise? Tue, 10 Feb 2015 10:38:22 EST Moving from weights to reistance bands It’s some years since I wrote anything on Spark People, but I’ve recently changed my routine and thought it may interest members.

Until now I’ve used weights but recently we moved to a smaller home and I’ve had to keep the equipment in the garden shed and drag it in to the house when I wanted workout.

I’ve never found that resistance bands satisfy me until now, then I saw and bought the multi band type where the the bands don’t have permanent handles but clips which can ... Tue, 10 Feb 2015 09:16:35 EST Will I stop getting muscle pain after a while? I'm not doing any intense body building or anything like that, I'm just trying to lose weight and get to a level of normal or average fitness. Squats have always hurt my legs but I remember about 5 years ago it seemed I could get sore, heal, then after a couple times I would get used to it and be able to do it every day without any pain.

Right now I'm using the Jillian Michaels Burn Fat and Boost Metabolism video which is 45 minutes long and I like it, it's actually fun but it's k... Tue, 10 Feb 2015 08:02:49 EST Will I have loose skin if I lose a lot of weight? I am 21 and have started my weight loss journey, I started at 225 and I am now at 213 after a week and a half, I'm not trying to lose weight really quick but my pounds are shedding anyways, I do cardio and weights almost everyday for an hour or two. I am just really scared of loose skin. I have been eating super healthy, whole grains, fruits, veggies and proteins.

Anyone around my age range who has experience with loose skin?

Thanks! Tue, 10 Feb 2015 00:45:22 EST Toning my chest? Hello Sparkers!
I have managed to lose almost all of the pounds I wanted to lose, but being a pear-shaped lady, my upper body is clearly thinner and what's worse, my boobs look empty now (being over 40 doesn't help either, I guess). I know I cannot get them 'full' as before, since they're mostly filled with fat and I've dropped it down. Are there effective exercises I can do to tone them up? I cannot do push-ups, due to shoulders problems and I cannot use weights, for the same reason. <... Mon, 9 Feb 2015 11:01:42 EST please advise Hears the deal,
I have never dieted before, I guess as a former dancer I never needed to. The thing is I don't dance now, and since I had ny daughter, I been overpacking on pounds. I am the heaviest I have ever been even during pregnancy. Excuses? I have a ton, between being a single mother and working a full time job, when do you find the time to exercise.
Okay they aren't good excuses, but the point is I don't even know where to begin on trying to diet. What food should I eat is ... Sun, 8 Feb 2015 22:08:29 EST Finding a race I do much better with regular exercise if I have a specific goal, like a hiking or skiing trip in mind. I would like to find a race for early summer to give me a goal, but I'm not much of a runner. I was thinking bike race, sprint triathalon, or a short obstacle race (like Warrior Dash, but there are none in my area). Does anyone have any good web sites for finding low pressure races? I'll be in Massachusetts until May and then Colorado. Sun, 8 Feb 2015 13:13:17 EST wii for 50 and over Hi
I am new here and am just learning to get around on the site. I have a wii that I would like to start using for exercise and am wondering if any of you know of any wii cds for beginners of ages 50 and over. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! Sun, 8 Feb 2015 11:35:08 EST Just starting to workout I've been using a stationary bike for about 2 months, started at about 5 minutes on no resistance to now about 35 minutes with one of the preprogrammed resistance routines on the bike, Usually every other day. Then on the off days I've been trying to walk about a mile. I would love to start running, getting ready to try a 5k in the Spring. I've got a nearby park, running shoes, and ambition ;) It's pretty cold though, but I really want to try it. Any suggestions on how to start? I really, real... Sat, 7 Feb 2015 20:03:20 EST Stairs and rest days One of my New Year's resolutions was to stop using the elevator. My office is on the fourth floor, I teach on the third floor of a different building, and live in a second story apartment. My thought was that using the stairs instead would fit exercise in even if I was too busy to do anything else (many days between going to the lounge on the second floor for lunch, printing copies, taking bathroom breaks, etc. I go up and down the stairs at lest 5 times).

However, I'm a little co...
