Today I tried a pre-programmed interval course that varied resistance from levels 1-3. I logged it as "elliptical, moderate" and there is a pretty significant calorie difference. I can keep my balance while doing kicks as high as I am tall. I put on my roller skates this morning and my core is now strong enough to keep me upright and skating. I can do a full squat with no problem (think "drop it like it's hot"! LOL) However, my family and I went to a local park that has the exercise equipment placed around a walking trail. I twisted my ankle badly, and it's still healing. I haven't been able to do any exercises for the past few weeks, until recently doing strength training for the upper body. The problem is to lose body fat you're supposed to do both strength training AND cardio. I tried swimming today and I know it'll work as long as I don't use my legs (ankle hurts when I kick), but is there anything else I can do?
