Wed, 13 Apr 2016 22:28:48 EST Muscle replaces fat weight? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=6&imparent=38758646 Hi, <BR> <BR> So as I've heard around a lot, if one loses weight solely with a diet and no exercise, we tend to lose muscle along with the fat; and that's already happening with me. <BR> <BR> My question: if I begin to exercise (cardio+ strength training), am I likely to gain back the muscle and the bodily weight associated with that muscle that was lost when I was only eating healthy n not working out ? Or will I continue losing as the muscles regain their strength through exercise? I'm not sure how else to explain it. It rarely hurts when it does this. Heat usually helps calm down whatever is going on. Does this make sense to anyone? I'm really trying to workout/be active daily. For the last 3 weeks my routine has been: 15-20 min cardio, 20 min strength, 30-45 min cardio. I've done only cardio maybe 3 of those days. For the past four months, since my retirement in December 2015, I have been consistently exercising five to six days a week. My routine is to work out (weights, Pilates, yoga – it varies) for 30 to 60 minutes followed by a 5 mile walk. I rest one day a week. I have recently added a once a week 8 mile hike to my workout schedule. Excluding the 8 mile hike, I still feel sleepy and tired after the workout and walk. I had hoped and expected to feel ... Mon, 11 Apr 2016 15:55:09 EST Exercising points http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=6&imparent=38738380 I've added 75 minutes today but it still hasn't counted in my points and rank on the fitness points. I thought they would reflect my fitness minutes and rank but I guess not. thought the more exercise I do the more that get added to my fitness totals. Same thing happened yesterday and keeps happening daily and gets frustrating. What's the point of recording in tracker if it doesn't get counted?
