Also I sometimes eat half a pot, then add more things to it, so that throws it off. I guess I could start measuring what I put into the pot, but that is such a pain and do... Just wondering if your body can get "used" to a calorie deficit. For example, for the last 7 weeks or so, I've been keeping my calories in the 1600-1800 range (with a cheat meal about every 2 weeks). At first, I was actually feeling pretty full eating in this range because it's all whole grains, veggies, low-fat dairy, and lean proteins (the way we should eat!). But now, even though I'm still eating right, I'm feeling more and more hungry. Is my body getting used to the change... Wed, 12 Oct 2016 17:59:45 EST low carb questions http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40101021 My doctor wants me to eat fewer carbs. I will talk to her at my next appointment about some of my questions but maybe someone here can answer some questions to do now until I see her.

What exactly is low-carb? Do I look at the nutritional value on each serving? Does it have to be low carb of what I eat total at the end of the day? Do I look at the number of carbs of the total servings I eat each time I eat and not just the one serving? For example if I eat two servings do I look... Wed, 12 Oct 2016 13:32:29 EST Carb counts http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40099988 Hello

I am wondering if anyone can help me out ..How do I know the amount of carbs are correct when I put my numbers in sparkpeople. it currently says to consume 1200-1550 cal a day carbs 135-252 fat is 27-60 and protein 60-136 I weigh 130 lbs I do stay within my limits 99 percent of the time but I notice my carbs even though they are good carbs qinoa whole grain are always at least 50% I don't know if this is good . Wed, 12 Oct 2016 10:29:10 EST ensure http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40095787 I drink about one ensure per day. I'm 69 years old and I'm not so sure that this drink is any good. I drink rice milk but almond milk might be better. My weight is normal. I have high cholesterol. So I was wondering if I should quit drinking ensure and drink a cup of non fat milk with a cup of almond milk per day? Maybe I should take 1/3 ensure 1/3 nonfat milk, 1/3 almond milk and combine them. This is just a confusing mess to me. Tue, 11 Oct 2016 14:34:40 EST Blowing daily carbs http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40093810 I'm blowing way past my daily carb allotments when I track my food. I've decided to discount my fruits and just concentrate on the other kinds of carbs, which are my bigger problems. Does this sound wise? Thanks in advance for any thoughts! Tue, 11 Oct 2016 12:49:17 EST Difficulty tracking homemade meals http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40093655 In an effort to lose weight, tracking meals and the nutrients/calories, etc of them, is an important step in my opinion. It keeps you accountable. Where I get stuck is trying to do this for meals I make at home. Some are easy to track, if for example, you have chicken, veggies, potatoes, the ingredients are easy to separate and track. It's more difficult if I make a dinner meal where there are multiple ingredients. For example, if I make a soup, I don't know what to count for this as the pot ... Tue, 11 Oct 2016 12:06:56 EST Plain and Simple http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40092449 I seem to do much better when the food I eat is very plain and simple--plain meat, plain vegetables, plain salads, with maybe just a little seasoning, rather than recipes. It seems the more ingredients I add, the more flavorful the dish, the harder it is for me to resist and to refrain from overeating.

Does anyone else have this issue, or any tips, or any logic to this? Tue, 11 Oct 2016 08:32:13 EST weight loss supplement success? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40088552 So I am just posting this up here out of being curious. Has anyone tried weight loss supplements and had success with them??? Either appetite suppressants, metabolism boosters, ect. I just got a sample of a system that did all those that i mentioned plus gave me mental clarity, helped my headaches, helped me stay regular, and it even helped my sleep. It has a pill, shake, and a patch. The benefit I found with the patch is that it releases supplements all day vs a pill being rapidly absorbed.I... Mon, 10 Oct 2016 18:11:08 EST How Much Should I Really Be Eating? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40088409 Things are going well in my quest to be healthy. The only thing I still struggle with is the amount I'm eating. I am using the Spark Nutrition feature that adjusts your calories if you exercise. I'm doing a LOT of fitness, and I'm trying to eat close to the range, but many days I don't eat enough according to the suggestion. Should I REALLY be trying to eat that much? Or will I lose if I just eat intuitively? It's especially challenging for me because I had gastric bypass surgery in 2001. I s... Mon, 10 Oct 2016 17:39:43 EST Why is scientific evidence for diet hard to find? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=40087552 If you are older than fifty you can remember all kinds of recommendations for our diet. Remember when eggs were considered bad for people's cholesterol. Very low fat diets with higher carbs was considered very healthy at one point. Doctor's over the years have made big dollars pushing their diet plans, which by the way they have always touted helping most of their patients with the eating plans. The list of doctors and plans is truly to exhaustive to list in a post. So why is real scientific ... I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. When the nurse did the vital collection, I discovered I had gained 10 pounds in the two months since a rather disastrous diet attempt that had unknowingly been a dangerously low calorie count. The doctor was not happy because I have a blood disorder which means that the heavier I am, the more life threatening risk I have. So I scheduled an appointment with a dietician, and in the meantime started counting calories and attempting to stick ...
