Thu, 12 Feb 2015 17:20:10 EST Some questions concerning diet and exercise So, this GP I saw yesterday was trying to tell me that weight loss is 90% diet, and that exercise has little to do with anything. He was also pushing me to go gluten free, even though I do not have cealiac nor a gluten intolerance (I had blood work done a few months ago, with a different doctor). I kind of get the feeling he's just a major health nut, trying to push what he does, on other people, which isn't all bad per se...but some of what he was suggesting just seemed "off" to me. Heck, he... Thu, 12 Feb 2015 15:38:43 EST I didn't know sushi had so many calories! I've always thought of it as a healthy lunch, but after looking up all the calories in the ingredients of the roll I had today, it ended up being almost 500 calories (never mind the sodium)! Thu, 12 Feb 2015 13:38:30 EST MFP vs SP I am curious about a difference in calories that I am seeing between the two sites, MFP is allowing me 1820 calories, and SP is allowing me 12-1600 calories...both are set at sedentary, both are set a losing 2lbs/week and both are set with the same weight and height. Can anyone tell me why there is such a huge difference between the two? Thu, 12 Feb 2015 11:01:08 EST Can I treat Diabetes with Diet alone? I've started testing my blood sugar levels since both of my parents had diabetes. If I find out that I have pre-diabetes, can I treat this with diet alone or are medications needed. But that didn't account for long run days, where I burn 1000-2000 calories and even eating at the top of my range didn't get me enough food.

I recently saw on a post a clear and succinct post describing the best use for both ways of tracking, where she said nutrition tracker communicating with fitness tracker is bes... I was out recently and passed by a place that offers West African food, which I've never had before, but now I'm intrigued! Some of the food images looked very similar to Indian or Middle Eastern stews and curries, which I love. Has anyone here had West African food before? What are its flavors like? Anything you'd recommend? (I'm a vegetarian.) Sat, 24 Jan 2015 22:01:37 EST Having real difficulty cutting sugar. I was at my goal weight last summer. I started eating sweets and put on 30 pounds. Candy and vanilla milk mainly. I am unhappy and I am having a hard time finding anything I like in my life and I think sugar helped me stuff that down. Now I am unhappy and fat lol. That doesn't stop the sugar cravings though. I quit candy 2 days ago and all I think of all day is candy and I want to eat it. I don't even really want meals and I feel angry now and sad. I don't have anything in my life and this ju... Sat, 24 Jan 2015 19:20:28 EST Protein shakes I've done lots of reading that say it's beneficial to drink or eat protein rich foods within 30 minutes of exercise. I'm curious about protein shakes because I'm sure that would be an easy fit into my schedule/routine. As a woman what should I be looking for in a protein shake? I know low sugar but how much protein? Sat, 24 Jan 2015 19:07:24 EST gaining weight on tom Can I really gain up to 10 pounds on my time of the month? It isn't that much though it is about 5 pounds most of the time or a little more. I don't know why and I have no idea whether this is water weight or me not eating healthy. I gain more and have worse cramps since I have gotten older too I have noticed. I just get so frustrated when this happens. As far as what I eat, it is usually more salty and sweet foods along with caffeine. I am back on birth control so I don't know if that matter...
