Thu, 21 Apr 2016 17:36:22 EST Calories OK but too much fat? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=38822961 I'm nearly vegetarian so I get a lot of my protein from eggs, dairy, nuts, etc. Most of those sources are high in fat. I find at the end of most days that my calorie intake falls easily within the range I'm given but my protein is at the very low end of the range and my fat is above the range. Could this be slowing down my weight loss? Any thoughts about how to reduce fat while getting enough protein if you don't eat meat? Wed, 20 Apr 2016 22:25:54 EST Vegan Lifestyle on a Budget http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=38814310 It's common knowledge – eating healthy, especially eating lots of vegetables, costs more than eating junk, right? Wrong! It can cost a lot more to eat fresh and healthy foods, especially living the vegetarian lifestyle, but that happens when you don't think about what you're eating beforehand. Considering that you have to plan out your meals in order to get the right nutrients anyway, living the veggie lifestyle in a frugal way is just a matter of making smart choices for things you're alread... Wed, 20 Apr 2016 15:08:46 EST Canada and the US difference http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=38811988 Why is there a difference in the amounts of calories, sodium, carbs, sugar etc on the same products but from different countries? I live in Canada but often travel to the US and when I go I often notice these differences, they aren't a lot but generally I find Canadian products to have less sugar, calories etc. I tried to google it but I didn't find much. Sparkpeople will not allow this http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=38805692 My doctor said to limit my calorie intake to 800-1200 calories. I cannot make this adjustment on my sparkpeople. I have special circumstances that necessitate a lower calorie intake. I am 4'11 and use a wheelchair 90% of the time. I have little physical activity to balance out the calories. Sparpeople's minimum is 1200-1500. I cannot lose weight with this many calories. Tue, 19 Apr 2016 12:12:58 EST Better for me coffee??? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=38802254 I am a coffee drinker but I usually only have it in the morning with cream. So this morning I decided to try to cut back on the calories and use sweetened vanilla almond milk instead of cream ( I use at least 3 tbsp. of cream) since it is lower in calories. Well for starters it doesn't make the coffee light enough in color (I know that's only a visual stimuli but still) and it wasn't sweet enough. I'm choking it down but I need some suggestions on how to lighten up without taking the joy out ... Mon, 18 Apr 2016 18:54:48 EST Getting kids to eat and like veggies? http://www.sparkpeople.com/myspark/messageboard.asp?imboard=7&imparent=38797227 Hi all! My daughter has three young ones that don't really like eating veggies. Any ideas on getting kids to eat them? They are 2, 4, and 6 yrs old. I already mentioned to her that she could use a blender and make fruit/veggie "milkshakes" with them, try sweet potato fries rolled in brown sugar and cinnamon instead of regular fries with salt, and buying V8 Fusion. <BR> <BR> Any ideas out there? :) <BR> Thanks Mon, 18 Apr 2016 18:05:20 EST
