Get yourself a pedometer, I have been using one for 3 years and I initially started by walking 3,000 steps a day now I am up to 14,000-16,000. It motivates me by challening me watch those numbers go up, the one I have also shows calories burned and aerobic steps taken which will be good for you when you go to curves. I park farther and I pace when I am on the phone. Try it I believe this will help you jump start your routine!!

You need to choose something you love to do, you are already getting some exercise in each week with curves...if you do not like walking then look at bike riding, elipical, dance arobics anything that will get the heart beat up and keep it there for at least 20 minutes three times per week...once you find something you love doing it will become automatic for you to do it.

My daily walk is now such a part of my day that it always happens....however I was once exactly where you are now.
What I did was get a big wall calendar and colored sticky stars. I had different colored stars for different length walks. I wrote down how many consecutive days I had walked. It is true that many times I went for a walk only to earn a star.
Truly there are benefits beyond weight loss to a daily walk and please post again and tell me of your walks!

How do you get motivated to exercise? I feel like I'm sabotaging my efforts to drop this weight by not doing a daily walk. I go to Curves 4 -5 times a week and love it. Just cannot seem to make myself do the extra exercise that will make the difference in losing weight. I seem to have lost enthusiasm for weight loss but am very unhappy about my current weight.
