Congrats on your weight loss, your article is inspiring. I, too, use Leslie Sansone's walking tapes and swear by them. Like you, I also have loss a lot of weight this year (71lbs) , after having total knee surgery. I also do weight training and in the summer, water aerobics. I feel better now at 62 then I did at 40.
This is a wonderful article. I have a heart condition so this may be something that would work well for me:)

I had back surgery 3months ago and am doing PT exercises. I started doing Leslie Sansone's DVD, 5 Fay Slim Down. I only walk a 14 minute mile with her after a 5 min. warm up. I love that I can do it in my bedroom because we have snow and ice outside. It has really helped those lower back muscles come back alive after being down for months. I have lost 6 lbs since the beginning of Jan. and healing quicker by moving around. Your post will keep me motivated. Thank you. Amazon.com is the cheapest place I have found to get her DVDs

Thank you so much for sharing your story. Your story makes it very real, not a story for advertisement or a blank statement of I lost so much , yay! I have a bad knee and bad varicose veins, from birth, so jumping around or running is not on my list to do, plus the lack of money for equipment and or going to the gym left me with only a DVD option. I did fine walking out side during the summer times but was easily discouraged during the winter months and soon would quit. I discovered Leslie Sanson DVD and a few others for variety such as Billy Blanks, which I did to the best I could. I love Leslie's DVD's they look simple but she gives you a good work out plus you can easily add hand weights to any of her DVD's,

But your story and the suggestion to check out Leslie Sansone's workout DVDs has been so very motivating. And so helpful! It's the end of September in Texas, and still getting into the 90's out there. Being able to work out in the privacy of my own home is PRICELESS. Thank you.
When it's raining outside and I can't walk I just do it in my home. I walk all through the house. I have a long hallway as well. I don't stop until I do 45 minutes. But if I had that tape it would be great. Thanks
Great article. Wish there was not a picture of a treadmill with it though. This weight loss was due to walking with Leslie Sansone DVDs, NOT using a costly treadmill! Sansone is an awesome way for anyone to begin exercising as they do not need lots of space, good weather or expensive equipment, just good shoes. I found a set of her DVDs in Walmart (Canada) on sale, even! She has produced quite a few with lots of variety and degrees of difficulty. I started using them after very serious surgery when I needed to get back to exercise gently and worked my way back. Thanks for sharing your great success story!

Judi Thank you for sharing. About twenty five years ago I went from 185 to 125 in about a year using my treadmill faithfully daily. I kept it off by using my treadmill. In the past three years I have had to have 3 surgeries and have not been able to exercise and have put on about 55 lbs. So now I am on day three using the treadmill ounce again. Judi you have inspired me and reminded me it can be done. Thank you !!!!!!
Judi, your story is very inspiring to me. You got me to go dig out my Leslie S. DVD, blow the dust off of it and start moving. I have a treadmill out in the garage that has become a mini storage holding platform for all kinds of boxes and who knows what's all stacked on it. I am so amazed that you lost 60 lbs. that quick. I need to lose 30 so let the walking begin! Great job Judi! You put me to shame...here you are with MS, which I don't have, so I have absolutely no excuse.
