A tablespoon or two of apple cider vinegar (Preferably Bragg's with the Mother) in a glass of water about 30 minutes prior to a meal will make it so that you don't get heartburn at all. Give it a try. We've been doing this for about 3-4 years now. The bottle of Tums simply collects dust.
