  • How do you tell your boss to cut back on caffeine, refined sugar, alcohol, fried and processed foods, and salty foods and switch to leafy green veggies, egg yolks, brazil nuts, bran, bell peppers, and salmon?
  • This explains a lot a healthy salad Brazil nuts these always take the edge off

  • Some of these might be good, but when I'm in a bad mood or depressed, I'm not thinking about reaching for a bell pepper or cooking something good. I'm more inclined to retreat, reach for a comfort food and wait.
  • I second leafy greens. I don't know if the effects are purely chemical, or because my digestive system is so happy, but they sure make my body feel clean and happy. I have not noticed a mood change with any of the others. Except, occasionally when I'm depressed, I crave Salmon. Could be an Omega 3 deficiency! Interesting.

My mood is always improved if I have some chocolate, even my husband knows this, and reminds me to have some.
  • I enjoyed reading this article. Very encouraging for depression sufferers. I already knew some of the foods that help, and have now learned a few more.
    Thanks :-)
