I was doing so well. I had lost 11 lbs and have now gained back 6 lbs. I am here to try to do it again and stick to it and not let stress become a trigger for overeating.
I just retired and in the midst of the street of the transition process I gained weight. I need to loose about 35 pounds in order to have knee surgery and my daughter is getting married in St John's Newfoundland and I want to be able to participate in all the activities with my family. I lose and gain and am almost afraid to try again but if I want a healthy retirement I must. I am trying to eat anti-inflammatory food to see if it reduces the pain. I have been following SparkPeople for quite awhile and feel ready to participate. Looking forward to being a real part of this community.
This will be my umpteenth time starting a new way of eating and losing weight; at 64 years of age I think it's now or possibly never. Marge's Journey starts today; Eat to Live is my motto. Thanks.

Returning member. I must have joined and then let it go. I have regained access and now am at my goals with a vengeance. I am 56 and would like to lose 25 lbs currently sitting at 180. My daughter told me a couple of years ago that I am always trying to lose that 20 lbs. Well all in good time and the time is now. I am going to my "If man made it don't eat it." mode... My time has come...
Hi, I've been bouncing back and forth with Sparkpeople for over a year, but I'm so disgusted with myself right now I need some motivation and someone to hold me accountable. My weight right now is probably around 160. I don't want get on the scale just yet. Suffice it to say, I'd like to lose about thirty pounds to start. Okay, I'm ready to get serious and get started.

About a year ago , after being the same weight all my adult life, I put on 15 lbs around my middle., I am really struggling to get it off. It is not so much that I am really overweight but my body feels foreign and I can't wear my clothes. I am starting again to try to get ride of it, anyone else have this problem. I am 65 and very active.

I've just joined along with my spouse and we're both trying to loss weight and change to a healthier life style, both for ourselves and our grandson who lives with us. We'd like to introduce him to health eating habits and a physically fit lifestyle so that societies values won't control his choices in diet. Wish us luck as we start our new adventure.

Well, I've decided to join Sparkpeople to help with my weight loss. I'm hoping the group mentality will help me with my goals. I have a friend at work who joined and it has worked wonders for her. Here I go!!
Well I've decided to finally take control of my health [instead of it taking control of me]. I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and now have to learn how to control it. I am very grateful to sites like this that are packed with info and helpful suggestions as well as support. And free to boot. Here's to new friends and a new lifestyle.
hi! my name is Stacy, today is my first post I'm new to this whole posting thing just learning how to use a computer I just joined yesterday4/29/13, and I've got about 70lbs to lose by New Years, hopefujlly! I'm turning 50 in a couple of weekd, and have been recently diagnosed with end-stage renal failure, so as well as trying to watch my type2 diabetes, I also have to watch my potassium and phosphorus levels in the foods that I eat. So as you can see I need all the help I can get.
Hi everyone i am joining here for the first time and need to loose 70 lbs, My starting weight is 220. Cannot wait to get started so excited that it does not cost anything.
