  • How lowering to discover that a dog has more control than I do! - 10/13/2017 2:57:13 PM
  • Ok, I hit enter before I was done. As I wrote, this woman is a dog trainer and has/had a show on Animal Planet. It is difficult to really comment on this snippet without watching the whole video, but it is quite possible that this dog had a problem of grabbing food off plates and needed to be trained. I can't say for sure, but having watched this woman's show, I'm guessing that she was just training the dog. - 10/5/2017 1:54:38 PM

  • Love this! - 10/1/2017 8:27:31 AM
  • If only I had that much control. Maybe I just wasn't trained right LOL - 9/11/2017 6:11:20 PM
  • This kind of reminds me of when I first got my Pinscher, Bart. My daughter was just a month old. I often made him wait for permission just to get his dog food. Even then, I would take it away from him while eating. At first he growled, but he learned with time not to be aggressive. I hated doing this, but I had to do this to break his instinct to protect his food. I had to make sure that if the baby got into his food, she would not get bit.

Note: my dog is spoiled. Yesterday, he got a nice piece of pork and he gets lots of treats during training. Bart and my daughter are both a bit older now, and they are both really attached to each other. I wouldn't judge this dog owner on a trick that she taught him. - 8/26/2017 9:14:57 AM
  • Poor dog, but I laugh every time I watch this - 7/21/2017 7:34:36 PM
  • i own a Staffordshire terrier (aka pit bull). She is a highly trained animal so that she can be a wonderful family member, confident, able to have self control, etc. Part of her training was and continues to be putting a piece of her favorite food (roasted chicken) on her plate and telling her to 'leave it' until i tell her she is allowed to have it. If someone is doing it for laughs, i agree it is wrong. But if someone has a dog that society generally says is a dangerous breed, then that dog must behave better than other dogs so that the dog has an opportunity to be part of the societal change. LEAVE IT has to be part of her daily .... around the cats, i tell her LEAVE IT if she gets 'that look' in her eyes. And she leaves them. I'm all for it when it's to help create a safe and happy environment for family and pets alike. But not as entertainment. - 5/25/2017 9:00:30 AM
  • Hmmm, wonder how a person would feel if someone waved a delicious smelling food in front of their face and then spoke harshly to them to stay away from it? I question this video. I understand the point being made but I think it's mean. - 5/12/2017 12:44:36 PM
  • You all don't understand the meaning of the picture. It shows us that we should have that much willpower as the dog. - 3/10/2017 12:04:21 PM
  • I agree with the others that found this more sad than funny. Poor dog. That look of distress on his face; if he was accustomed to getting some treat after something like this, he'd not look like that. :( - 1/16/2017 12:43:47 PM
  • There's nothing funny or inspiring about this! What a horrible thing for a human to do to an animal in hir care! Tormenting a poor dog for our amusement, cruel! - 12/21/2016 7:20:13 AM
  • I'm sorry, but to hold a plate of cupcakes in front of a dog, then order him to leave them is just cruel to my mind. Whether he was ultimately given one is immaterial. - 12/17/2016 3:47:54 AM
  • Poor dog!And very cruel owners! - 9/2/2016 4:53:58 AM
  • I have to say I don't have the will power like the dog does! I hope everybody has a Marvelous & Blessed Monday! Linda! - 8/29/2016 2:46:03 PM
