Quote

Motivational Quote - Instead of comparing our lot with that of those who are more fortunate than we are, we should compare it with the lot of the great majority of our fellow men. It then appears that we are among the privileged.
SparkPeople Translation
Do you ever think about how green the grass is over the fence? Of course, we all do at one point or another. It is easy to compare your life in terms of its faults to the lives of others who seem to have it better. This is an important quote because it reminds us that if you really think about it, we probably have it better than the vast majority of the human population. For example, you are able to get email and read this quote of the day. To become more appreciative, make a list of all the privileges you have in one day. Everything from being able to drive to work, have a job, get email, stay at home, read the newspaper, take a walk, open your windows, turn on your air conditioning…you get the point. This exercise is helpful because all too often we take these privileges for granted.

Boston Baked Beans (Chef Meg's Makeover)
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

Chef Meg revamped this popular bean recipe to make it a slow-cooker dish. Soak your beans overnight, turn them low at lunchtime, and by 6 p.m. you'll have a tasty, fiber-rich side dish. Omit the bacon to make these vegetarian.

This is a great side dish for backyard barbecues!

If you are trying to reduce the sugar in your diet, substitute brown sugar Splenda. If you like your beans less sweet, use less sugar. Full Recipe
