Healthy Inspiration from SparkPeople

Motivational Quote - Just 10 minutes of exercise can change your life.

SparkPeople's Comments

Ten minutes of exercise might not seem like much, but it's a great stepping stone to building up a consistent exercise routine. Start today with just 10 minutes of exercise--in no time, you'll be moving up to 20, 30, or even 60 minutes. It all starts with that first 10-minute step!

How true. I had to start with 5 min. and work up to where I am now. I do 60 min. twice a day on m Nustep machine.

I know the wisdom behind this. I had to start with "just 5 minutes", worked up to 10, then 20...now at 60+! It feels so good! Thanks for sharing.

this is an ok thought, but I prefer more motivational ideas than exercise-related ideas. I find these "I like to sweat" quips to be pretty flat and uninspiring.

This is so true! Just a little bit of exercise a day can give you the motivation and "spark" to do more, be more, try more.

Great post. A year and a half ago, I committed myself to run a mile a day. Seemed kind of lame because it only took 14 minutes, then 13, then 12, then 11, then 10, then 9. But it was very efficient exercise and I felt like I was getting a really good workout. Now I'm up to between 1 and 2 miles, and I suspect that as the pounds continue to come off, that number may go up further. At 52, I'm being cautious because I had a stress injury that set me back for several months. I really don't need to run a marathon, I just want to be healthy. As I tell my daughters, anything you do daily, you get better at.
