Written by Melinda Hershey, Staff Writer

If you love pizza--but also love fitting into your pants--we've got you covered. Here are a dozen of our best pizza recipes. Each one is light, healthy and guilt-free. Have your pizza and eat it, too!

Veggie-Packed Pizza

This vegetarian recipe features a whole wheat crust, a bounty of sauteed vegetables and two cheeses (mozzarella and feta) for just 177 calories and 8 grams of fat per serving. You can easily adapt this recipe to include any of your favorite vegetables.

Personal Pita Pizza

These mini pizzas swap out a traditional dough crust for pita bread so you get all the flavor of real pizza for half the calories. Go ahead, eat the whole thing for less than 200 calories.

Spicy Taco Pizza

Turn up the heat while you turn down the calories! The chile-studded lean beef packs 15 grams of protein into each 190-calorie slice of this taco flavored pizza recipe. If you're feeling bold, add extra chiles or your favorite type of hot peppers for an extra kick.

Gluten-Free Eggplant Pizza

Skip the wheat and sneak more low-cal veggies into your pizza night by replacing crust with sliced eggplant! Layer these clever mini pizzas with all your favorite toppings. Enjoy several "slices" for less than 120 calories.

Light Chicken Alfredo Pizza

A dash of rich, creamy sauce goes a long way in this chicken alfredo pizza (207 calories, 9 grams of fat), which is ready in minutes!

Healthier Hawaiian Pizza

You can't go wrong with the sweet and savory combination of pineapple, bacon and red onions in this healthy Hawaiian pizza, which contains just 200 calories and 6 grams of fat per serving. To lighten your slice even more, substitute in turkey bacon for the center-cut bacon.

Low-Fat Mediterranean Pizza

Our Mediterranean-style pizza is made with just seven simple ingredients. Fresh basil and sun-dried tomatoes add fiber and flavor while pureed white beans make for a rich yet low-calorie sauce. (189 calories and 4 grams of fat per serving.)

Mexican Pizza

Pizza takes on a south-of-the-border twist in this Mexican pizza with a cornmeal crust. Enjoy the creamy combination of avocado and refried beans mixed with bold flavors of cilantro, onion, and cumin for only 204 calories and 6 grams of fat per serving!

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

This sweet and tangy barbecue chicken pizza recipe (306 calories and 8 grams of fat per slice) gets an extra punch of flavor from garlic. Go easy on the cheese for an even lighter pie, and try adding nutrient-rich veggies of your choice for more filling power.

Vegetable Pizza Tortillas

If you love thin-crust pizza, why not make a pizza out of your favorite whole-wheat tortilla? This single-serving pizza tortilla recipe yields a perfectly crispy crust and boasts built-in portion control: 355 calories and 13 grams of fat for the whole thing! Experiment with different toppings and flavors to find your favorite combination.

Chicken & Artichoke Pizza

This chicken and artichoke pizza is as delicious as it looks! Pair it with a garden salad for a perfect meal.

Fruit Pizza on a Sugar Cookie Crust

The next time you're in charge of bringing sweets to a get-together, show up with this family-friendly dessert pizza, which layers healthy fruit on a sugar-cookie crust. You'll get a full serving of fruit in every 248-calorie slice, and it makes for a beautiful centerpiece.

anything with fresh, local ingredients is going to taste great...just avoid heavy amounts of cheese, and let new flavors burst into your repertoire.

I cant wait to try the Mexican pizza or the Taco pizza. I think I will add extra spice. My family is big on me being the baker so next I am in charge there I am going to try that Fruit Pizza on a low sugar type of cookie. I cant wait to show my husband he loves to make pizza at home and cook it on his stone in a low smoky bbq.

I made the tortilla pizza's when we had company over for dinner. It worked real well and the pizza's ended up ranging from 225 to 320 calories for a 6" tortilla. We made everything from Turkey Pepperoni & Sausage to Chicken Alfredo. It was pretty good and the company liked it as well.
