Try these super tasty ways to prepare your favorite protein-packed food!

Delightful Dips

Puree cottage cheese with fresh herbs, garlic, or shallots for a healthier chip dip. (It's great with veggies or whole-wheat crackers, too!)

Stuffed Squash

Stuff a butternut squash with sauteed onions and mushrooms, toasted whole-wheat breadcrumbs, eggs, and cottage cheese for a lighter take on a classic gratin. Top with arugula or parsley and fresh rosemary!

I love cottage cheese and tomatoes, unfortunately most cottage cheese has an additive called Carrageenan which causes inflammation, gastrointestinal problems and insulin problems.

Every time I eat it I gain 2 to 4 lbs over night and it takes a week to go back down and my fasting blood sugar goes up 15 points for 3 days.

Only cottage cheese I can eat has to be a whole food with no additives, very had to find, going to start making my own.

I wouldn't eat cottage cheese for years (when I was in Brownies we toured a dairy where the cheese was made and I didn't like the smell). I'm well over my aversion now! My favorite no-fat brand is Cabot's (it's really creamy). I love it with fresh fruit (especially pears), with apple butter, and now I have even more ways to use it. Never thought about putting it in smoothies (I always use greek yogurt). I also like the ideas that various members put into this thread.
