I have wonky knees, and this is a little too strenuous, but I go through it just to be able to laugh at myself. I look more whale than ballerina, even "turning my head gracefully,"rofl. Look, folks, we have the ability to MODIFY or just avoid any exercise that doesn't work for our bodies. Coach Nicole says," if it hurts, STOP." I definitely need to do that on this one. Like Leslie Sansone says, "The goal is to keep moving," The reason I'm doing this challenge is to VARY my workouts and keep from getting bored. With this one I got some laughs, too. No Ballerina Here!
All I have to say is COME ON!!!!!! This work-out is great if you are a ballerina or some kind of dancer. PULEEEZE! And this work out would be fine...nice and challenging...HOWEVER, this instructor gives no notion as to how to modify these moves. Why is Spark People using it???? COME ON!!!! GET REAL! I know it is part of Acacia TV but, SP has no choice in the videos they use? Again I say, show me modifications or don't show me at all. I do not mean this post to be abusive and I don't think it is. I do mean to speak for the many of us that are thinking this but are too nice to actually post.
Wish these workouts in the 28 HOme Workout Challenge were trackable like they used to be! I agree, this one is too advanced for those of us who are a bit on the senior side or blind! I couldn't follow most of what she was saying! gimme coach Nicole or some of the other workouts here on SP!
I have to concur with previous comments. For people just beginning their journey, this work out, even with the modifications is very challenging. I am glad it was only 10 minutes or I would have quit. Yes, we need to be challenged to reap the benefit, but when the challenge even modified is very difficult to reach you become discourage and give up. Many of us give up which is why we are where we are. I did not find this workout inspiring at all. Won't do again.
Please call this advanced. I've done a fair bit of Pilates, but I had to dumb this down, and even so, in the second half, my lower back did not feel good.

I could have done this 35 years ago, but with a bad back, 2 replaced knees and weight to lose, I had no intentions of hurting the back. I'd appreciate more chair exercises or some devised that would help with the core, but not overly discourage my efforts. I'd really appreciate some exercises more geared to people with health issues. I suspect that a lot of Sparkers would appreciate it.
Hope someone on SP reads these comments. The negative outweigh the positive about 10-1.
I agree with many on here that this workout did seem a little out of place in the 28-day challenge. The difficulty level was much harder. I was able to complete the workout with modifications (and probably some bad form), but core work is where I am most challenged anyway, so I never look forward to core day. lol.
Hey, Spark People! Will you read the comments that say over & over that this is too hard, there's nothing beginning about it, and people get demoralized trying to follow these skinny & flexible dancers. PLEASE remove these horrible barre exercises from challenges intended for less than advanced exercisers?!
