Love this. I'm honestly looking into the Skinny Girl products and using them within SparkPeople. Great for beginners and love that they did a 15 min clip on here. I have a busy schedule and was having some back issues this week back gave a loud crack and felt 10 times better during the workout. I don't understand why people find Bethenny annoying...she seems like an upbeat person. Her comments about breathing are incredibly important as if you don't remember to breathe in yoga you don't get the full effect.
I was surprised by all the harsh comments. I had checked out the Skinnygirl workout from the library and loved the workout so much that I bought it. I think that the yoga instructor is awesome, and that Bethenny's comments provide quite a bit of helpful modification. I don't think that this is a beginner's workout -- more intermediate, really -- but there isn't anything here that a beginner could not do without a couple run throughs. Anyway, I love this workout, and am glad that you guys posted it.
Some harsh comments. Yes they talk quite a bit to try to help people who are beginners, but that's no reason to be insulting. The routine is defiantly not a beginner level workout but not crazy hard, so if you take the time to go through the routine before trying it you should be ok. To easy for me so I won't be trying it again.
I was looking for something a little more mindful than my Oliver Reinsch Feel Good Yoga Core Power video, but also core-centric; since. medically, pilates is somewhat contraindicated for me now. I have really liked my pilates classes and wanted to keep the good things going. I also have my own, lengthy, highly-spiritual (but NOT holier-than-thou; and NOT pretzel contortions/acrobatics) yoga practice that I have devised over the years; which used to be a vinyasa yoga/pilates fusion, itself (recorded on an mp3 playlist). Picked up this DVD for nearly a song. Disappointed that Bethenny herself claims in Health Magazine (December 2013 issue) that she does not do her own dvds, nor any other exercise anymore. (I like Body by Bethenny, but I felt there was too much talk.) Maybe she'll change her mind. As for the chatter on this one--it seems a little less, but, in any event, I currently have cheap, retro equipment that make the foreground noises hard to hear for me, on my particular copy--so for reasons of omission, it works very well.
No, thanks. The constant chatter makes it difficult to follow, Bethany is super-irritating and several of these moves are far beyond beginner. Not only will I not do this video again, I think I'll pass on all the Bethany videos. There are lots of other choices. My favorite video yoga instructor is Rodney Yee.
