A mat can be a beach towel or a folded blanket.
The ball comes in a small box with a pump and you inflate it.

Good instructions, I too have had knee replacement and I am not allowed to kneel. I will keep looking for ab excersizes.

Jimini Well, I could possibly make it through this routine IF I had a mat - IF I had a ball. Having neither and having no spare money (living on SS), and no transportation (bus runs once a day to the nearest 'big' city (Burlington VT) and how could I carry a ball and a mat on a bus? I am 72 years old 5' tall (getting shorter all the time).

Great little abs routine for the ball but your best by far is the "15-minutes abs workout". It's much tougher and more comprehensive and the best I've come across.
Both knees are replaced. I can't get on them at all

I actually think I can do this once I become accustomed to using the balance ball. Great instructions.
