Salad Dressing

To avoid adding extra calories to your salad, ask for your salad dressing on the side and dip your FORK (without any salad on it) into the salad dressing THEN load your fork with salad. You still get the flavor of the salad dressing and you will barely dent the surface of your dressing.

Start a budget

Make a budget and stick to it. Using an envelope system can work by withdrawing the money you allot for buying food and pay for groceries with cash. Or if you don't trust yourself to not get a pizza delivery or something then use your check/debt card but track all spending with mint.com

Daily workout

I make my self work out for at least 15 mins, even if I am not feeling well. Most of the time I will end up doing a whole work out. Which makes me feel better!

While cleaning up I always try and find an excerise I can do while doing chores. Washing dishes "leg lifts", Dusting, "lunges", washing clothes "running in place", hanging up clothes on the line "squats"...See how many you can come up with while cleanercising. emoticon

Buy frozen fruits and veggies

Sometimes buying fresh produce can be too expensive, try looking in the frozen section for budget friendly quality fruits and veggies. A big bag of frozen berries usually costs the same or less then a small container of fresh.

Get a pedometer!

I have been wearing a pedometer for about 2 months now. I have been finding myself making an extra lap around the grocery store, making more trips to the copy machine, and parking my car further away from building entrances. It has become a game to beat my 'points' from the previous day.

Try Before You Buy

Instead of running out to buy the newest exercise video, healthy lifestyle book, or nutritional cookbooks, see if you can borrow them from your library. If you find it applies you and your lifestyle then buy it.

salt the leftovers

When I am out to eat and there is food left on my plate that I don't want to take home with me I pour salt alllll over it. It's too easy to move aside a napkin to keep nibbling, but I'm not going to eat it if there's too much salt!
