Shoes by the Bed

I put my shoes right beside the bed before I go to sleep so in the morning I either have to trip over them or put them on. Putting them on naturally gets me to the exercise. Goal met before the rest of the day even gets started emoticon emoticon

Real hungry vs Mouth hungry

When I'm not sure if my hunger is real hunger or 'mouth hunger', I pop a strong mint (like Altoids™), in my mouth. If it isn't real hunger, I don't really want to put anything else in my mouth after a strong taste like that.

24oz at a time

To get my 8 cups of Water in a day, I have a water bottle Fresh and Fit Vortex it has 24 oz of water it holds. I fill it with water, only 3 times a day and I'm not always waiting to get to a sink to fill up a smaller bottle or glass. If I go somewhere I put in the ice in the vortex it came with.

Batch Cook

Cook up a big batch of SOMETHING when you have time. I particularly like things like soups and stews. You can freeze some and keep some in the fridge - that way, there is always something healthy at hand!

Exercise 10 minutes daily

I always make sure that no matter what (unless I am sick) to make sure that I get in at least 10 minutes of exercise a day

No Shame in Loving the Points

When I'm not seeing the results I want on the scale, I depend on the points I get to make me feel like I've accomplished something! Maybe I didn't lose a pound, but by trying to get as many points as possible I know I'm doing something right. Plus, trophies!

Weigh your self daily. Don't allow yourself to gain more than 5 pounds without taking positive action. Continue to exercise and track your food. Maintain the good habits that caused you to lose weight.

Purposeful Walking

By having a real destination when I walk it has made it easier to walk every day. I try to walk anywhere within walking distance. I call it Purposeful walking.

Do what you love, don't force what you don't...

Don't try to force yourself to do exercises or activities that you don't enjoy (i.e., if you don't like to run, or yoga isn't for you). Instead, concentrate on building on the activities that make you feel successful. Experiment with adding intensity and/ or duration to activities you love!

Fiber is an important key to help keep your weight down. Think of your intestines as a factory that needs to work at its best to keep your body working smoothly. Great sources of fiber are fruit, vegetables, beans/legumes, whole wheat. emoticon
