Saving $$ with a crockpot

I have been cooking whole meals in my crockpot for 31 years:same crockpot too! It only costs a few cents a day to run one, instead of using an oven or microwave! Banked the saved $ and renovated my home's whole interior!

The Food Obsession

Keep youself busy, don't spend all your time thinking about food. I plan out my next day's menu the night before and prepare what I can. I simply know what I am going to eat and therefore do not have to worry about it. Plan ahead. Do something that's not all about you.

Dance Dance Revolution

Whenever I get bored, instead of sitting down and playing a video game, I put in ddr and use their workout option. It's fun and keeps you moving.

Secret Ingredient

I put fresh pico de gallo on everything. I purchase it from my food store deli and it really ups the spicy factor on my sometimes boring healthy foods.

One step at a Time

Move it while watching TV

When I am watching TV I walk back and forth to get steps in. On comercials I go on a fast paced walk around the house. This burns calories better than just sitting.

Shake It Off!

I think of my plan for healthy living in terms of a football game. A fumble isn't part of the game plan, but it is part of the game. If I slip, I just shake it off!! It has meant the difference between multiple attempts and success.
