Ready made homemade salad

I prefer to make my own salads but won't do so if time-crunched. My strategy involves fresh salad ingredients and a 6-8 cup capacity plastic container. I wash and chop 3 heads of romaine lettuce and a variety of my favorite veggies and store in the container in the fridge. Fresh salad at the ready!

Tag Game

During our 15 minute breaks our department plays "tag" to walk around the campus. It is about a .5-.75 mile walk and one person initiates then comes back and "tags" the next person. We continue until all members of our department has walked. Great use of our 15 minute breaks twice a day!

10,000 steps

I try to get at least 10,000 steps every day. I find these things have helped me reach that goal: I pace while talking on the phone and when doing laundry I hang the clothes one at a time instead of a bunch at a time (walking back and forth to the closet) and I also try to walk every day.

Kill a Craving

Two Spanish olives with pimento are only 15 calories, give you the right kind of fat (1 g), and stave off cravings. Makes a great afternoon snack.

CHANGE HOW YOU COOK YOUR VEGETABLES

I had to change how I cooked and ate to maintain my weight loss. Gone are the casseroles and mushroom soup sauces and cheese sauces that drowned my vegetable dishes. I added variety too! No more boring mashed potatoes and gravy and peas!

Drink lots of water

My secret is I drink a LOT of water. I find that I'm not as hungry all day long and it's easier for me to stay away from snacky foods.

To Stay Healthy Is Important

The motivation that I have is to stay healthy that is what is driving me forward but I am under the proper percentages and calories so I am unsure if I am getting the right nutrients.
