I try to have all sorts of motivation for myself to keep on track with my fitness. It's all too easy to do a little less or skip exercise entirely because I might be feeling tired. So I make it a point to ask other people about their fitness routine. And then we have a fitness discussion. After that I keep up with that person and we continue to have fitness discussions. It's like having an invisible fitness buddy and I include someone in my workout endeavor.
I have a lot of wt to lose and I have made it a goal to try something new when I reach a small goal. I set a goal of losing 10lbs a month and when I reach it, I splurge a little, such as trying "paint and sips" at the local winery, traveling to an out of the way fall festival, just tying something new with my twin 15 yr old boys. I have found I really like trying something new or going some place I haven't been . I may even sign up for a local class.
I'm fortunate enough to live within two miles of a couple business districts so walking to the store or appointments is something I can do with a little planning. Now, I hang up the car keys and plan my schedule each day with the time I need to walk to and from the destination. I can easily get in an hour workout each day doing this. So many added benefits too - fresh air, great scenery and occasional visits with people along the way.
Ask the butcher about meat without added stuff and what they have in the back. They will cut it thinner for free.. roasts..etc. Also, ask what day best day to come and what time. Butcher's are very resourceful if you tell them you eating healthy as possible.
I began exercising a year after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I was on Metformin until I lost about 70 lbs in 2009 I was able to stop all meds at that time.. I lost a total of 102 lbs through diet and exercise and my BS levels evened out beautifully. This is Sept. of 2015, and my BS AFTER breakfast was 112! I usually walk 2 miles. It is time well spent and has worked miracles for me. I have learned to love the results exercising gives me. Start where you're at, and go for it!
