I have the perfect way to know exactly how many ounces are in the food I eat, ....., wait for it, I Weigh IT! I stopped eyeballing my food, the looks the food give me are deceiving. I stopped guessing, and now I am 38 pounds lighter in matter of 3 months.
I have started drinking dessert tea after dinner and while watching tv or reading. My favorite is Stash Chocolate Hazelnut. Add a packet of Splenda and a splash of skim milk and it really does taste like dessert!
I do calf raises while preparing food. Lifting up on my toes slow and controlled, speeding them up, and I'll also do them pigeon-toed. You can also lift up your toes, and go up on your heels to work different muscles.
Every time you are done a workout, write what was so great about it on a small piece of paper (e.g. "I felt strong when I ran today"). Then fold the paper and add it to your motivation jar. When you are feeling less motivated, you can reach in and read a few papers to get you pumped up to workout again.
I set my timer for 45 mins and get up and walk through the office and reset when I sit back down. Or I'll start a conversation on IM and when the person answers I know they are at their space so I get up and go visit instead of continuing to type.
