I follow SP & Judith Beck's (Ph.D) book called "The Beck Diet Solution". She builds a mental strategy that works for me. She outlines responses we might make to her strategies and provides the healthy mental responses to counter our resistance. It's at the library and it's working for me. Cravings have vanished. I've talked myself through difficult eating challenges by using her techniques. I think it's great.
Instead of sending my colleagues an email on something trivial, I walk to their desk and tell them in person. It is good for adding steps to your daily total and it's also nice to communicate with people in person rather than virtually.
What is my secret to successful weight loss? Setting goals and keeping them visible at all times. Tracking my food drinking plenty of water and exercise. Making sure I get at least 30 minutes a day! I get lots more because I play the Wii Tennis Game and other challenging games. Anything to keep me moving! I march in place during commercials, I march when I'm waiting in line. Any movement is good movement!
My only secret is that my husband is doing is gym with me, so his mental help is big for me. So we do 45 minutes 5 times a week, him on his stationary bike and me on my treadmill and watching our favorite programs.
