To help my preschooler learn to put his shoes on correctly,I write on the left shoe L =1 which means LEFT .The #1 is for counting order --to help him remember 1 is FIRST . Then , when he puts on the RIGHT shoe, it is marked R=2,which means RIGHT. The #2 is for SECOND.
