My Secret to Success Is....

Never giving up. Even after 6 months of not "dieting", I came back, got back on the wagon and am nearly finished with my weight loss now. I have lost 190 lbs. and have 90 to go to make my goal. Even if you have a bad day, week, month, whatever....NEVER GIVE UP!!!

Honesty

I think the key for me is being honest with myself about everything. Not just what I eat or how much water I drink or how much exercise I do, but also how much am I WILLING to do to change my life. In other words, walking my talk. emoticon

Getting your eight glasses of water!

I have 64-oz and 32-oz bottles that I use for my daily water. It makes it so much easier to keep track of--and it dosn't seem like so much of a chore! I use flavoring packets like Crystal Light and BeneFiber to make the water more palatable. emoticon

Spending time with Spark People

Before I do anything of a day I log on and start with Spark People. This organizes my day for exercise, food and water. I never feel lost in my goals. I always feel I am heading in the right direction. Thanks for helping me find the road to success to a healthier life. emoticon

Sleep

If I get enough sleep, I am happier and have more motivation to exercise and track my food. I also have a better attitude, where as if I am tired, I often say "who cares" in regards to health.

How To Deal With Conflicts!

The secret is" It takes two to have a conflict, and only one to end it". There is always some truth in the issue that created the conflict, however great or small it may be . Learning to accept the truth is hard and part of the secret.

Avoiding or cutting down wine/alcohol consumption

I find that when I avoid wine, I lose weight. It's not rocket science. After a couple glasses of wine, I eat unhealthy foods or too much food. I usually have wine on weekends, but then I find that all my week long efforts and weight loss are squashed by my weekend antics. Not worth it.
