For various goals in my life I always start with a "Vision Board" A sortof collage made up of photos, pictures (from magazines or elsewhere), key motivational images and words that pertain to the goals I will achieve. Currently I am in the process of recreating myself by the time I turn 60 (in 2 years) and weight loss is a part of that
Instead of mindless eating during prime time TV, I clip coupons that I don't use for the troops. They even take some expired ones! This is a great cause AND keeps my fingers busy so I don't grab those chips. It takes some time to clip and sort, but I feel it's the least I can do! Relax - don't think of all the things that need to be done - lay there for 15 minutes and let your body enjoy. This is great for sore muscles, aches and pains.
I feel that this is almost the beginning of my becoming, and also turning into a Senior Citizen ( but your'e really only as old as you feel)
Slather your hands with bag balm. Rub as you would with hand lotion paying a little extra attention to the nail beds. Slip into cotton gloves, your gardening gloves or latex gloves while relaxing or doing a chore. When you remove them your hands will be soft and supple.
Since my husband became ill, I have channeled all my energy into taking care of him. He is not making as much progress because he won't get up and move. I recently had a heart attack and he has to fix his own food now and do more for himself. It was hard at first, but everyday it gets easier. I let him do it.
Many dogs, and cats for that matter, need constant cleaning around their eyes and/or mouth. Soft shop towels are fantastic to use to gently clean these areas. Just tear the amount required (no sense wasting a whole towel on a small animal), moisten with warm water, wipe.
On those days that I can't get to the pool to swim or I don't have the time to do a whole exercise video (or other circumstances prohibit) I can usually find 10 minutes to take the dog for a walk. It gets me outside ( which is also a mood lifter), I walk faster than if I don't have the dog, and I get in a minimum of 10 minutes of exercise.
