SPARKPOINTS

I start my morning everyday doing my spark points! It's a quick little guide line to how to think during the day, get your wheel spark points to spur you on, read someone's
blog, read an article, think about counting your water glasses, write a blog...... Small daily choices that add up.

Start TODAY

Do not start tomorrow. Do not have a "last supper". Do not wait until you have more time. Start right now! Didn't eat a good breakfast? It doesn't matter - time to start tracking and planning your healthy dinner for tonight. You deserve to be feeling better and in control right now.

Remember this is a Journey not a Sprint

It's so easy to have a winner take all attitude when ou first begin; but it's important to remember that the gaining of the weight didn't happen overnight therefore losing it won't happen overnight. Focus on getting healthier, eating right, moving more, doing more. Set mini-goals such as trying to eat your daily serving of fruits and veggies each day. Drinking more water and less soda. Celebrate each small victory. Believe you can do this, Know you WILL do this.Commit to it.

Focus on what you can add, not what you have to give up!

When you're first starting out, it's best not to focus on what you have to give up - your favorite foods, your TV time, etc. Instead, spend the first week or so adding things - more water, more sleep, more fruits & veggies. Then slowly start focusing on what you need to give up. By adding first, you won't feel as much like you're depriving yourself.

Eat less more often

A few years ago I joined a gym, and the fitness trainer had me eating less food but more often. So instead of a breakfast lunch and dinner, I was eating a light breakfast, a snack, a light lunch, a snack, a light dinner, and another snack. It kicked my metabolism into high gear and my body was actually using the calories that came in.

10 Minutes

Whenever I feel I don't want to exercise I think to myself, I'll just do it for 10 minutes. Sometimes after 10 minutes I keep going and sometimes I quit, but still, 10 minutes is better than no exercise at all.

Just start

It's overwhelming looking at all of the information out there. You need to start somewhere and it doesn't have to be big. Eat a healthy breakfast. Replace junk food snacks with fruit. You don't need a big day where you change everything. Start today with what you can change and stick with it.

Small, Consistent Changes

Don't try to change everything at once. Start with one or two small changes, and do them consistently. It works!
