after many years of taking meds i am now off meds; i did this by working out 30 minutes 5 out of 7 days which started out as simply walking!; increased fruits, water, veggies. really watched the carbs and protein. I have read a few articles for those of you who are controlling your insulin resistance or type II diabetes through diet make sure you are eating plenty of cinnamon every day. It will help your body use the glucose and help control your sugar levels. I always eat protein when I eat carbohydrates. For example, if I eat an apple I will also have a serving of low fat cheese. I have found this helps my blood sugars from going peaking when eating foods with higher sugar levels. walking does the heart good ...and all other body parts
I have discovered that walking has an immediate and positive affect on blood sugar. I proved that myself by testing my bs before and after a 30 minute walk. AND before taking meds. Keeps blood sugar down Planning meals & eating more frequently It has really helped me to plan my meals in advance and pack food to being with me to work. I eat 4 - 6 smaller meals thoughout the day rather than just a big lunch and dinner. The benefits? More control with my bs & successful weightloss! |
