You must renew your motivation daily

This quote from Zig Ziglar really spoke to me: “People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily." If you find your motivation waning, that's normal. You have to get yourself pumped up to succeed every day, just like in other areas of your life. I find that checking my goal board daily really helps.

Using my online Blog/Journal

I have found that on a day, when I a not feeling motivated, or am feeling a bit down., if I begin to write down how I am feeling, or what is bothering me, then I begin to think of the good things and writing about them, I begin to feel "sparked". I want to get up and get going. Write in your blog when things are good, so you can look back on them. But journal when you struggle also. It is all motivating!

Just say "Stop!"

I use this technique when I begin to snack on stuff that's not in my eating plan for the day. Before it gets out of hand, I say "stop" to myself. I don't know why this does the trick.

Humor yourself and others

I find that when I'm in a slump --- my funny bone is the best thing to exercise for me. I seem to be able to pull myself up with I make others laugh and make myself laugh!

My maintenance mindfulness mnemonic (tracking weight reminder)

Then if I gained weight, I put a rubber band on my left wrist (no, not to snap myself)
If I lost weight, I take a rubber band off my left wrist
If I am the same, I do nothing.
