Changes needed to be made to motivate me to move on.
This one changed my life:
I try and remember how nice it felt to slip into a pair of jeans and feel sexy. I remember how it used to feel so I make going down into the next size jeans my goal vs getting so hung up on whats on the scales. I alo have started taking care of myself. Buy some new makeup, get some highlights.
I've enlisted the help of everyone I know - family, friends, work mates and total strangers - to motivate me in my weight loss journey. I used my job in the beginning to get motivated to work out, with 5 extra minutes per day for every 105% QA I listened to. I've lost 75 pounds with their help!
If I find I really don't want to go to the gym, I'll just say, "Fine, I won't go. But I'll put my gym shoes on." Once I have my gym shoes on, somehow I'm out the door. If you can't bring yourself to start working out, just try to take one small step in that direction. The first step is the hardest!
Sometimes when I get off track I find myself avoiding Sparkpeople altogether. My secret is I tell myself I'll just log in. Once I log in I find myself getting into reading articles and stories and before I know it I am motivated to track. Soon after I am back to wanting to exercise. All from a login
When I start feeling discouraged about my progress, I fight back by going through the list of things I have already achieved on this journey. By the time I'm done, I feel much better and ready to tackle the next hurdle in my way!
Having a partner to exercise, create meals, and to bounce my successes and failures off, helps me stay positive even when things are not going as I would like them. Even a long distance partner is good because you can SKYPE one another. I love that I have my sister as my partner.
