Smaller Goals!

I've found that creating smaller goals along the way has kept me motivated to hit my larger goal! I set weight loss goals of 15 lbs, every 3 months. As of today, I'm down 44lbs! It doesn't seem like such a challenge if I think about weight loss in increments of 15lbs.

Determined to Just Say NO

Since making the decision to eat healthy and lose weight I've had co-workers bombard me with goodies. I politely decline but they don't take no for an answer. So I simply take the treats & put them out of sight then later give them away. I am determined to not allow others to undermine my health!

power of the mind

This is a mind game that we play, and we can beat the system or be a victim. We must choose the correct side to win. It is a constant and daily choice to the healthier, happier, and honorable lifestyle. It's forever, but the daily choice prevents a lazy attitude where a "bite doesn't matter.

Mind Games

When I am out eating with buddies and the temptations become overwhelming, I start counting how many "things" people are eating. Like corn fritters or nacho bites. It is not to be disrepectful to them, but to help me get through that moment.

Focus on something else!

When I feel my motivation slipping, I focus on doing something not related to my healthy lifestyle, but still good overall. I find that just creating a group of friends on spark-- who you can root for and who you know have your back-- is the BEST part of my success. Because sometimes you need to be accountable to more than just yourself, and sometimes you want to inspire that friend who *really* needs it.

How I stay motivated

The first thing is to know that you have a problem, when you figure that out, get determined to change the problem. I couldn't do without SP. Anther website I like to go to is www.cozi.com. There I can write a to do list and mark off when I've done it. Then see the results of your progress.

Motivational Maintenance Days

I find that motivation starts waning if I do not treat it as its own muscle group. I need to schedule workouts for my motivation, determination and mental strength, just like I would schedule cardio, stretching or strength training.

Wii yoga poses in the mornings

emoticon I am finding doing Wii fit plus yoga in my own routine each morning helps wake up the cobwebs in my mind and get me motivated to seize the day! I try to mix up poses and some strength exercise in "my routine" to keep thing interesting and longer or shorter durations. emoticon
