How do you stay motivated and find inspiration to stick with your program?
When you find that you've went off track with your routine, don't beat yourself up about it. We've all had some days or special events where we indulge. Just be sure that the following day you get back on track.
Make a solid effort to take the focus off the scale....set a goal that is meaningful for you....learning to run? set a goal to run a mile without a walk interval, enter a race, Can't do a push up to save your soul? make a goal to complete a set of ten......whatever these goals....work toward them.
Always do your best. You can't do better!
When I reach a goal time at the gym I lift both my arms and say, "yes!" Amazing feeling to congratulate your own self, and sometimes a fellow gym goer will add their congrats!
It helps to stay focused on being healthy if you surround yourself with others who share this goal. SP has been awesome in helping me find others online, but I've also found friends at work and in my neighborhood who are striving to be healthier. It's fun to share ideas and motivation!
I tell myself to go for a 10 minute walk. After 10 minutes, I tell myself to go another 10 minutes. It adds up, and sometimes I fool myself into an hour of walking. It works all the time.
I use a larger container to measure my water for the day, but then I pour it into my best crystal stemware to drink it. Only the best for our bodies!
If you always say a nice thing to others, it does make their day. Which in turn will brighten yours. Even if it is just a smile or a "hello", "nice day." Be sincere
One of the least helpful things I face is treats people bring to work and/or food I can't put numbers on if I eat out. I am going to start spinning the SparkWheel ONLY on days when I can truthfully log all of the food I eat (and stay under my numbers).
I put pictures of myself from my fit days or little notes all around the house so every time I turn a corner, there is something there to remind me of my goals... there are pictures and notes to myself on the refrigerator, in the refrigerator, on the pantry, on my bathroom mirror, in my bedroom...
