Meeting your water intake quota

My tried and true trick to meet my water quota is to start my day with a glass of water and before long, nature calls, and I 'll have to "go". As soon as I'm done in the bathroom, I'll drink another glass, and the cycle continues. If you drink everytime you "pee", you'll have no problem.

Calendar with stickers!

emoticon Use a monthly calendar dedicated just to your health plan. I use mickey mouse stickers each time I meet a goal, write in minutes of exercise, etc. Just seeing the visual display of a whole month with all your accomplishments helps!

Daily Blogging

I blog daily, even if I don't have anything earth shattering to report. It keeps me accountable and honest and sometimes allows others to point out to me when I may need to make corrections to my plan before I slip up.

SOS Start on Sparkpeople

Before eating at night, stop on sparkpeople, check your food for the day, and check out some friends or blogs. If you have some spare calories, choose something and come back to log in food. Usually if I do this, I don't overeat and I get tired and feel fed by my spark buddies.

M & M's

Make a Mantra for yourself! My favorites are:
#1 No complaints, no excuses
#2 I don't get this day back. If I don't exercise, it's lost time.
#3 Today's accomplishment is tomorrow's starting point
#4 Just do it! No one else will do it for you!
#5 Can;t reach a goal if I don't have one

Share a Trainer with Friends

Sharing the cost of a trainer makes it affordable to have personalized attention. Plus you won't miss a work out because you won't to waste the money you've already paid on the trainer. Friends waiting for you keeps you accountable to show up (and accountable when out together at restaurants).

No Rules

I'm one of those people who somehow must find a way around every rule. The more I am not supposed to do something the more I want to do it. That mindset goes triple for food. So I don't have food rules. I eat what I want as long as I'm not allergic to it.

Keep a photo journal

Put photos either on your spark page or on your fridge or somewhere you see them often - I took one at my highest weight then added as I reached personal milestones. Visual reminders keep me motivated to keep going.
