Treat your dollar bills like your spare change. At the end of the day take your singles and put them in a piggy bank. You will be surprised at how fast they add up I then deposit mine in the bank at the end of every month.

This is not a dig against cashiers. In this computerized aged, most cash registers have scanners. These little marvels can be inaccurate, They can also be mis-programmed. The sooner you can catch a mistake, the faster it can be corrected.
