Let's face it, sometimes your can't
If there is something I REALLY want to eat I give myself permission to eat it. I may limit my portion size, or adjust my eating for the rest of the day, but by using this strategy I have headed off the cravings, feelings of deprivation, and need to be perfect that would have made me give up before.

When my girls was growing up at home, we had a rule. We would all talk about the down side of our day for 15 minutes to each others. Then we would find the positive side of things. It makes for a brighter day! And a happier family.
When you get in the habit of staying in love with yourself you naturally treat your body the right way. Forgive everything up to this point and just love yourself right now. There are so many worse things in the world than being overweight. If you can get past that a funny thing happens....
Set short term goals
By having small goals along the way you keep yourself motivated and inspired and that final goal doesn't seem that far away after all

I always try to remember that i am the person God made me to be. I am the person He wants me to be and that no person on earth can make me in to anything less than that. To me that is Self-Esteem, which comes from the inside, so don't let people get under your skin and take that away!
Doing well at being positive is accepting that we can't be that way 100% of the time. We just need to practice bouncing back from the negative times.
No matter how you feel on the inside, if you dress to look great on the outside, people will respond to you with positive comments. That will feed you with positive reinforcements, and you will feel better on the inside and about yourself. Your mood will lift.
