How do you achieve and maintain a positive outlook?
When you have a setback, & you feel disgusted/depressed at yourself, STOP. Take the feeling of disgust and make that feeling into a feeling of DETERMINATION. In the past I let it ruin my progress,But now I just look at the number on the scale and say to myself: I've come too far to RUIN my efforts!
When I feel down I tend to watch 1 of my 3 favorite movies of all time. Remember the Titans, Lean on Me, or The Sandlot. Each one always leaves me feeling good and ready to go to the next task!
Reaching out to others do make a difference in your outlook.
I thought I really blew it over memorial week end by eating chips, cookies, brownie, and cake. But I did walk and drank lots of water. I was shocked, I only gained a fraction of a pound. So, once in a while splurge isn't all bad.
Feeling overwhelmed and losing discipline can be hard to rebound from. I start back when I'm sluggish by a 15 min. walk adding several 3 minute breaks through the day for exercise. It loosens me up and begins the energy. Combining that with 6 snack size healthy meals and I have retrieved the vision.
Life is a mystery and has many paths to take. We pray we take the right one all the time but that doesn't always happen. Some make more wrong moves than others but that is part of life. If we learn, love and teach our young with good morals and principals we have contribute to the life circle.
If you miss the mark, eat too much, slack on the exercise, forget to track, whatever: Forgive yourself. Don't let it deter you from the goal. Pick yourself up, and brush yourself off. You are still in the game! Remember, each day we start with a Zero on the calorie and fitness tracker!
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” -Dr. Seuss
There is no one else you need to be comparing yourself against.
remember that true beauty comes from the inside! don't worry about what others think of you. once you get that confidence and get your inner light shining, there will be no stopping YOU!
One of the best motivators I've had is to keep a journal. That way, when I'm feeling down, I can write down exactly how I'm feeling, and then it's done. And no one has to see it, but I know I've vented and gotten those icky feelings off my chest.
