One thing I have learned here on Sparks is that I am WORTH it! No matter what anyone has told me or I heard someone say that was negative I always tell myself I AM WORTH IT! No matter what it takes I am going to get healthy. Tell yourself this everyday. Be Positive!
The magic 'pill' for me was getting involved with challenge teams. Being accountable to others on a daily basis, and being willing to interact and share made all the difference for me. Once I stopped being a loner, success followed success. There's nothing like a friendly competition!
We think if we do not say it out loud it does not matter. Who hears it anyway? YOU DO!!! Even in a joking manner this is still going to pull you down and enable you to continue to be negative. So if you are negative you are negative and positive you are positive, which are you?
My sister and I have a wall of positive quotes. When someone puts me down or rains on my parade, I go to the wall of positive quotes and start reading. I print my quotes from SparkPeople too! They have some great ones.
You will slip up and have bad days/weeks/etc. Just acknowledge that you messed up, try to learn from it so it doesn't happen again, and start fresh RIGHT THEN. Guilt, regret, and self-hatred do not help. Love yourself enough to move forward and focus on the now.
Losing the weight is the easy part, loving yourself no matter what is the hard part! Say "Thank You" when someone says something nice about you and start loving yourself. For if we do not love ourselves how can we expect other to as well?
