How do you achieve and maintain a positive outlook?
To heighten my awareness of the 'PANIC BUTTON' for immediate HELP (located on the message boards), I googled an image of a BIG RED PANIC BUTTON. I have one posted on the fridge & the pantry.
Learn to love the body that you have now (something I still struggle with at times), not the body you want. You are no longer the same person you were before your healthy lifestyle journey, so why dress that way? Get clothing that fits you better, and it will help motivate you.
I can be in the bottom of the barrel, but listening to contemporary Christian music, before you know it, I'm singing, praising and back on track. Worshiping God lifts US!! amazing Connecting w/the Holy Spirit lifts our spirits!!
As you lose weight, make sure you give away, donate or sell your "fat" clothes. Keeping them around only signifies you don't think your weight loss will stick. The added financial burden of having to buy bigger clothes again may be just enough to help keep you on track!
When I'm down, I try to think of someone who has it worse than I do or I'll help someone who has it worse.. even if it is words of encouragement or just saying something nice/happy. It feels good to help others.

Breathing is my staying positive whether at home,work,etc. Taking deep breaths in and letting it out slowly works to slow your heartbeats and gets you in a better frame of mind!!
I have a pair of special goals that may seem silly, but for I was wheelchair bound in January and I use a walker now, so being able to walk my basset hound and to dance with my husband are important to me. I tried to walk Lady today but she was too strong for me. I was sad, but I will keep trying.
Remember that long journeys start with little steps. I am happy to complete a little goal & make it a lasting habit at this time in my life.
