When I say something negative about myself to myself, it helps me to turn what I said around to the positive. Something I commonly say is "I'm depressed." When I catch myself saying it, I'll say "I feel good." You can use this most things if what you're saying is just habit or not really true.
Try and spend one day not complaining about anything and looking for only positives..when in traffic ...time to do butt crunches.When really hungry think of the new healthy you..you will smile and it will become habit..then lifestyle
If you ever seriously consider giving up ( which I know you won't ) take a couple of minutes, draw a line down the middle of a sheet of paper and list the pros and cons of your decision. This will help to remind you why you started in the first place and the consequences of turning back
