Worry List

When people around me start to emphasize the negative, especially about things they can do nothing about, I'll stop the cycle by saying "I'll put that on my list of things to worry about." It helps put whatever it is into perspective, and lets me focus on whatever is more important to me.

Change your Tune

Instead of allowing negative self-talk to repeat itself too often, change it to a positive. For an easy example, when you think "I'm dying", immediately choose to think "I'm living more and more" or "I'm fully alive." Find a positive that counteracts the negative and use it!

Protect My Heart

Today make the choice that will protect my heart from struggle with regret, doubt and feelings of failure. When I remember that and do it, I make choices through the day that lead me to a successful outcome.

Blessing Others

I get up every morning at 4 am and bring my husband a cup of coffee while he is getting ready to start his day. then I feed and love on my cat and dog. I feel like this is blessing them all which starts my day off in a positive way. emoticon

Stop and think before....

I am an emotional eater, when I am in a binge mood. I now realize that I can stop and think okay what am I upset about, or why am I feeling bad about myself?
Once I do that I can step away from the food, and feel really good and positive about myself. I didn't binge and I realize another trigger that I can watch for in the future.
This also works for meal choices, am I really hungry or is it just that time of day?
This very empowering to me.

I keep selling my plan to myself.

Over the years, I have found I stay with weight loss and nutrition plans and tools much better when I can't stop saying good things about them. And, if anything negative comes into my mind about them (like I'm totally loving Spark but I had the teeniest moment of frustration with one thing on the site and it's like a negative thought pattern about weight loss that's deeply ingrained was getting triggered), I remind myself of all the great things I'm loving about the tools I'm using.
