A secret for success in my life regarding health and fitness has been the use of SparkPeople as a way of connecting with others, throughout the world, who are in the same boat as I. This community of supportive believers in good health through diet and exercise has been for me a well-house of information, support and great conversation. I have been able to connect with people who have the same interests as I and who support me and encourage me in my diet and exercise goals.
I use the SparkSummary Calendar found in My Trackers; Reports; Weights and Other Reports; My SparkSummary Calendar to notice trends in eating and exercise. If I don't lose as much as I think I should I look at my patterns to determine how I can adjust for even more success!
It's simple really - just - USE IT! You joined the site so take advantage of the information, teams, advice. Log in, read the blogs, interact with other members, make friends. Most of all, though, USE THE ADVICE! Don't just read it - or put your settings to 'no mail' - the more reminders you get to stay on track the more likely you are to do so.
This can't be said enough: use EVERYTHING!
Day 3 and I feel great. Every morning I can hardly wait to login and start my day feeding myself with the motivation I need to keep me focused. Concentrating on 3 Fast Breaks that will help me stop eating mindlessly at night, schedule a daily exercise time, and adopt a motivational action "5 min. pep talk" telling me I can do this. I can plan and track my food daily and I can log in how much exercise I have done even if I only walked 15-30 minutes that is an accomplishment.
