Make it a habit to log in to SparkPeople first thing every morning and collect as many SparkPoints as possible. It'll get you involved in every area of this amazing site and help keep you motivated! I was just told about this feature and it rocks. It tracks your daily calories, fitness minutes & SparkPoints. You can look back at a week or a month and see how you made out. When I first joined sparkpeople, I felt the the site was very overwhelming and by concentrating on earning my spark points, I really learned the site quickly! Now I am addicted to earning my sparkpoints!! I found that going to My Sparkpoints is a great way to explore all that this site has to offer. Until I read all the ways to get points, I didn't know about Trivia, or Secrets of Success. When I click "view sparkpoints" it reminds me of all the different ways Sparkpeople supports me on my fitness quest, with articles, blogs, teams, recipes. There is such a wealth of info here. When I'm not seeing the results I want on the scale, I depend on the points I get to make me feel like I've accomplished something! Maybe I didn't lose a pound, but by trying to get as many points as possible I know I'm doing something right. Plus, trophies!
After having a couple of days of not logging in, I realized that rather than looking at logging in SP as a big task or something that requires a lot of time/effort just treat it like maybe your Facebook or email. When you check your emails, do a quick login to SP, blog/post/browse/read as per your convenience and whenever possible multiple times a day. When it seems like a small casual task you wont dread doing it. I like using Sparkpeople with my morning coffee. When I'm still waking up, I do a quick run through of anything that gets me Sparkpoints. It gets me thinking about what I need to do today from the very start. The Nutrition Tracker helps you stay on track by recording EVERYTHING you eat, that includes licks, tastes and bites.......and it also breaks down where you calories are coming from. Visit My SparkPoints everyday and HAVE FUN with it! THIS has kept me motivated like CRAZY! Can't WAIT to log in everyday and spin the wheel for my daily log in points, scroll down to select a couple fresh new challenges everyday and earn a few extra points. It keeps me ENGAGED! Getting a new trophy is always a crazy fun reward, too!!! Have FUN!!!
I find that viewing my spark points page helps me to navigate through a lot of the things this site has to offer. Before I was loosing things because I would click on a new interest then not get back to where I started. Now I just go back to my spark points page to start again. |
