My little secret

I am "secretly" attending weight watchers meetings to lose weight. This way I can eat what I want, still lose, and nobody is looking at me saying "I thought you were on a diet". It's not a diet, it's a life style change, and since nobody knows I don't have to worry about negative comments when I do eat, or mess up! emoticon

Brush Your Teeth Instead of Eating

When I have a craving that comes at a time when I shouldn't eat, I brush my teeth. I think it's just a fact that no one wants to turn around and eat after brushing teeth, and it's great for your teeth. You can still brush your teeth if you're at work or out somewhere. And it doesn't have to be very involved, just a quick brush does the trick. emoticon

Three Day Juice Fast

Scale

I have the perfect way to know exactly how many ounces are in the food I eat, ....., wait for it, I Weigh IT! I stopped eyeballing my food, the looks the food give me are deceiving. I stopped guessing, and now I am 38 pounds lighter in matter of 3 months. emoticon

Dessert Tea

I have started drinking dessert tea after dinner and while watching tv or reading. My favorite is Stash Chocolate Hazelnut. Add a packet of Splenda and a splash of skim milk and it really does taste like dessert!

My 9-year old son is getting into it, too. We have started having "tea tastings" and keep a big jar filled with various flavors on our kitchen counter. He loves picking out his special tea every night instead of a bedtime snac

Water the showstopper in your fridge

Keep your water in the most beautiful, pitcher you can find. It will serve as a visual reminder each time you open your fridge to drink your water. It also lets everyone friends and family know that drinking your water is important and it takes center stage.
P.S. its also a wonderful way to get your kids to drink more water, in my house everyone loves to drink out of the pretty pitcher and my kids even refill it when it is empty or remind me to. emoticon

Don't give up in the middle of the day

Sometimes if I slip up by eating something I'm not supposed to (like cookies or candies), I throw away the rest of the day and think 'I'll just start again tomorrow' and end up overeating. Instead of this, look at the rest of the day as a new day,

Eat Purposefully

I have found if l eat Purposefully, nourishing my body, chewing, not inhaling my food, that l am satisfied physically and mentally.
I went off all sugar almost 5 months ago and my cravings for nutritious foods increased dramatically.
