A thirty minute workout is more than a thirty minute workout!
I decided to plan what I want to exercise, but do it when I can. I have already done 30 minutes on my bike, just by taking 5 minutes here and there. This way it isn't a huge chunk of time at once, but I still work out the amount I want.
I have found that exercising in the morning is my best bet. It's not always easy and I'm still struggling with it most days - but I am much more successful all around (physical activity AND healthy choices with food, beverages, behaviours etc) when I get up and exercise in the morning before work.
In The Sparks Book appendices there is a section showing exercises you can do without equipment. In the morning I do one set of those every day to get me going. Only takes 5 minutes and you don't have to have "rest" days because you are not doing multiple sets or pushing yourself.
In order to form healthy habits, it is important to "just do it" when it comes to exercise. As long as you can start with at least 10 minutes of cardio every single day, you will find it easier to increase both the number of minutes of exercise and the intensity of exercise. Gradually increase amount of time and intensity, and soon you will "just do it" every day without even thinking (or complaining) about it!! You CAN do it!!
Instant rice and microwave rice is expensive! I buy a 2-pound package of regular rice and cook the entire bag on the weekend when I have time. I let it cool and measure it out in sandwich bags, one cup to a bag. Put the baggies into a gallon size freezer bag and voila! I have my own, inexpensive instant rice. Just microwave for one minute and eat!
