My neighbor sees me workout with my trainer outside once a week. When speaking with him this weekend and recounting how I fell in love with strength training on my journey to lose 100 lbs...I listened to myself! He spoke of the inspiration it was for him and his wife and probably others who saw me make a HUGE change. And for me, I was reminded to return to the gym the other 4 days since I've been sick and missed 4 weeks! I feel GREAT today! Inspiration for others converts to self motivation.

Celery for Dipping

I use celery sticks for dipping into salsa, creamy cheese dips, etc at restaurants where chips are normally provided. Just take a baggie of them with you. I also take celery sticks to functions with the dip so others can see the healthy option. Recently, I didn't have any with me, and asked the restaurant for big leafy lettuce to use as a wrap for artichoke dip! It was awesome! Create your own healthy option! emoticon

Epiphany for 2011

Substitute Transformation for Resolution! Visualize your final results as you transform into a healthier, fit person in 2011! Much better than a resolution which may fail. My motto for 2011 - transformation to live life the fullest with healthy eating, frequent exercise, and positive mental attitude so I can inspire others to do the same! Happy New Year SP! emoticon

What food is better than?

Season of Thanksgiving

I've invited "strangers" to my dinner table tomorrow! Yes, it's about "giving" thanks and giving back! Volunteer workers are repairing my daughter's home - recently devasted in the major flood in Nashville, TN on May 2. They will join us around our table tomorrow - and WOW - the food may be great and plentiful but the hands that eat the food are priceless to our family! We give thanks for all the blessings that come with a devastation! Happy Thanks giving to all SP!! emoticon emoticon

Whitening Booster

After reading a review about the best over the counter teeth whitening product, I tried Arm & Hammer Whitening Booster. I could personally tell a difference in 3 weeks and it keeps getting better. My dental hygenist noticed too. You add it to your regular toothpaste. It has 3 X's more whitening than other over the counter and less hassle than strips. emoticon

Using your Trainer

Don't just do the exercises he/she has in mind. Learn from the experts - ask questions: why is this a good exercise, what part of the body gets the most benefit, and why can't I increase/decrease the weight on this? I've learned a lot by asking. Gives me rich knowledge of my exercise program! emoticon emoticon

Starkist Tuna Creations Zesty Lemon Pepper

This prepackaged tuna is delicious. You can add to it with celery, mayo, and egg to make it more filling. I put it on my mixed greens with tomatoes and add a little Brianna's Real French Vinaigrette dressing. Whole package is 4.5 oz, 180 calories, 42 g protein, 0 carbs. Found near canned tuna in grocery aisle. emoticon

Beat the Heat Exercise Tip

Walk, jog, or run outside in hot weather? Even with early morning start, the heat and humidity is pretty high in the south. Take a cold, wet rag placing it between your shirt and shoulder and then use it to wipe your face or place on trigger points: wrist, temples or neck. Refreshing pick me up!
