clearigng out a cloths closet without guilt

This isn't my idea I read it some where. At the beginning of the year take all your hanging cloths and turn them around (hanger facing the other way) as you wear and wash the cloths replace them facing the way you usually place them in the closet. At the end of the year what ever is still facing the opposite direction can be thrown out or better yet donated because you haven't worn it in a year.

Make Sweet Tea a

I'm hooked on McDonald's Sweet Tea. I love the fact that I'm getting 32 oz. of "water," but hate the extra calories and Sweet-N-Low just isn't the same. When I order, I ask for Large Sweet Tea (only $1) cut 50/50 with regular tea. It lets me feel as though I'm treating myself without all the guilt. They have marks on the inside of the styrofoam cups that tell them exactly where 50% is so they're consistent. It's still 140 empty calories but they're worth it to me once in awhile.

NOW!

When you are planning on starting a new routine or you are going to restart a routine that got "blown out of the water"... do it NOW! don't wait for Monday or tomorrow morning or the beginning of the month. Start where you have the idea... that's the time when the motivation is the strongest and you will have the best success.

Add More Intensity

I get to a point where I am comfortable and do not push myself, I'm afraid to push harder because I do not think I can. When I do say, "it's time, just do it" I find that I can push beyond where I think I am. Just pushing myself that little bit more increases the intensity without making my workout longer but I still start to see losses again.

Baby Steps

Try setting mini-goals and add to them as you succeed. For instance: drink one more glass of water each day this week. Eat one more serving of vegetables. Walk for 10 minutes more that you did yesterday. Tiny steps add up to big ones.

Every Bit Counts

Move around. Bounce your feet, wiggle your fingers, every little calorie counts towards your weight loss. Even things like playing a musical instrument burns calories. All these little things all add up!

How I don't overindulge at the Holidays or parties:

The best Secret I can share is never go to a party or Holiday Dinner or restaurant super hungry!
Eat a healthy snack, like an apple and a low fat string cheese/ piece of cheese or yogurt before going. This way you can enjoy yourself but say no to the high calorie dishes and desserts.
