Remember that every pound or part of a pound adds up... Don't get discouraged over small losses during a week. My small losses have added up to 90 pounds!
Keep it simple... eat right and exercise more. Know what you have eaten, make yourself move and stay positive!
We should never forget the "Memorial" in Memorial Day. We should remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country and allowing us the freedoms we enjoy. Take the time to go to a Memorial Day service... it would also be a good lesson for your children.
Sometimes you just plain want ice cream (or candy or cake or pie) and you want it bad. My suggestion is to go to the ice cream shop and get a dip or to the bakery and get one piece of cake. Buy one serving, eat it and be done with it. If I buy a carton or make a cake I end of eating all of it.
When I read blogs and profiles, it really bothers me when people says such horrible things about themselves. STOP IT! Never say anything to yourself that you wouldn't say to a friend. Even if I still weighed 268 or if I gained another 200 pounds, I would still be a good person.
If I eat a sandwich I mash an avocado and use it a spread instead of mayonnaise. Granted avocados are high in fat (healthy fat) but they are much lower than mayonnaise and the avocados have nutritional value.
I have always set goals for weight loss for myself. For example: I will lose 10 pounds by June. This sets you up for failure. Set your goals for what you have complete control over. For example: I will exercise 5 days a week and stay within my food plan.
When you eat something ridiculous and you are feeling like you blew your plan... go directly to your nutrition tracker and put it in. You might just find out it wasn't as bad as you think and you may be able to make adjustments during the rest of the day. If it was that bad - Get back on plan!
I asked my husband to fix our push lawnmower... he asked why because we have a riding mower and he does the mowing. I decided that pushing the mower would be great exercise for me this spring and summer. Find your exercise where you can, it all adds up!
I find that the Biggest Loser is pretty motivating but I think that it give us regular people false expectations. When people diet after watching that show, they expect to drop 8 pounds a week. That is unrealistic and unhealthy. My doctor HATES the show.
