Hopefully I don't offend anyone when I say I've become the Electricity Witch. I bought a electric usage meter you plug into the wall sockets to measure all the things we keep plugged in. We no longer keep the DVRS, TVS, Chargers, or ANYTHING plugged in, unless its in use. I've seen a large drop in untilties since.
I've seen too many secrets of success telling you to cut things out "no sweet drinks" "nix the butter" "never eat anything fried"
This tidbit may be minimal, however, so long as you chew gum (mostly the SF 5 calorie stuff) for 30 minutes, its not necessary to track it.
I know were all about rewarding ourselves for the good, but we know a good stern talking to, grouding or punishment has taught us a lesson or 2 in the past. When i get to my nutrition feedback at the end of the day, and I have no calorie deficit because i ate 4 cookies instead of 1, I make myself drop and give me 30 pushups (or whatever hurts, used to be 10, but i'm stronger now). I hate them, I really do, and the next day when my arms are aching, I skip the cookies
I keep Spark People open on my computer at work all day long, I have the app running on my phone all day long, and I keep it on my laptop all night long. This way, its always there reminding me that if I'm going to pop that handful of pringles in my face, its gotta go in the tracker, and I will have to be accountable for that choice!
If you have trouble drinking your 8 glasses of water, because water from the tap isn't good and you're tired of paying for bottled water, buy a bobble. A bobble is a filtered water bottle. You can fill it anywhere and the water tastes great. The filters only have to be replaced every 2 months, and its still way cheaper than bottled water!
For some reason, I have some obsession with winning. I used to be addicted to Yahoo!Answers, and I was obsessed with getting points and graduating to a higher level. Well my work has blocked y/a!, so now I've become obsessed with spark points. I go through the spark points page, and do everything I can to get as many points as possible on any given day. And i refuse to cheat.
I have a fitness center at work, there are several ladies that workout everyday. I've made friends with them, and although they can't make me go all the time, they drag me to a heck of a lot more classes then I'd do on my own. I also have a friend who works out regularly, she calls me everytime she works out to brag about her accomplishments, I immediately feel lazy, and make time to do something that day.
