Go with the Flow, of Water that Is

I was sitting too much. I've tied moving for 2 minutes to each time I have to refill my water glass. I put 8 Ws down a note pad. Each time I finish a glass, I cross off a W and next to it I put the activity I do before I sit down with the next glass. That activity must last at least 2 minutes. If it lasts more than 2 minutes, I record that extra time, also. I enter all of that in my fitness tracker favorites as "Home Circuit" and give it calorie burn = to walking or strength training.

Water

Water--not drinking it. Doing something IN it, or On it or by it. Building a sand castle, swimming, shell hunting, catching fish for an aquarium, floating, water bird watching, boating, kayaking, fishing, sketching, water color painting, photography at sunrise or sunset, running on the beach, walking a path along the river, hiking to a waterfall, swimming at the base of the waterfall.

Commercial Twist

I keep a waist twisting disk in the living room. I twist on it everytime I get up to get a snack, during every commercial, or at the end of every row on the scarf I'm crocheting, etc. Slides under the couch when company comes. I keep a mini trampoline in the next room. I walk on it every time I pass that door. Chiropractor is worried about me bouncing on it but the gentle bouncing while walking is great for the whole system.

Check your Calories, Weightloss & Fitness Goal Settings

I was setting 2 month weight loss goals, but everytime as I neared the goal, the system aimed me toward maintenance and weightloss stopped. Once I changed over to my long term weight loss goal, that stopped. So be sure your settings are correct, because the system definitely works to maintain once you reach your goal!!

Ask, "Is it Important to do this?

Teach after surgery, radiation and ongoing chemotherapy? I realized I could ONLY do what was important to help my students learn. 4 years later, I still ask, "Is this cookie important to my health?" "Is sitting in the recliner important to my goals?"

Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no.

The point is, I now actually decide before I just DO IT. I now eat lots of F & V. My 45 minute fitness streak gets longer daily!

Is it important? The choice is mine.

Eat for your health

You will never know how many doctor's visits or surgeries, or cancer treatments you avoided, the copays you'll save, the money you'll earn because you can work and bring home a paycheck and maybe even do a little something for your retirement when you will be older, but you will not feel like you are.
