I quit keeping soda in the house. But rather than completely depriving my son, when he asks for it I make him walk with me to the store and we only by the 20 oz bottle instead of the big two liter. Now he has to think about it instead of just mindlessly grabbing one out of the fridge, we get in a little extra exercise, and I get some extra one-on-one time with my son, who at 13 doesn't have much time for me anymore. Who knew that soda could be my friend.
There are 1440 minutes in a day. Start devoting 10 minutes a day to physical activity. When you find out where your downtime spots are in your day, add another 10 minutes. This can be an easy 1st step into getting into the habit.
I am a peanut butter lover could eat it all the time :) Well I recently found PB2 which is a pressed peanut butter. It basically removes all of the oil leaving you with a powdered peanut butter that you add to dishes or favorite drink!!! Way less calories and still get the peanut butter flavor :) Their website also has lots of great recipes. PB2 only has 45 calories so this cuts about 150 calories compared to regular peanut butter
We hear a lot about thinking positive and using assertive language in order to stay motivated, along with telling others and being proud, and it suddenly hit me one day: When I tell people about my weight loss, I always say "I'm trying to lose weight." But wait-a-minute! I'm not TRYING to lose weight, I'm actually LOSING weight! So why on earth say trying? Just this little turn of phrase has perked me up so much and given me so much more drive. Because I'm actually making progress. I'm DOING!
I BELIEVE EVERYTHING NEEDS IT'S OWN PLACE! I TRY TO PUT STUFF WHERE IT BELONGS AFTER I USE. WHEN I NEED IT I CAN FIND IT. NOT THAT I'M PERFECT BUT, I TRY. WHEN I'M COOKING I GET EVERYTHING OUT & PUT IT AWAY AS I USE IT. WHEN COOKING ESPECIALLY LG. MEALS I WASH DISHES AS I GO. MUCH EASIER WHEN WE'RE READY TO EAT. GOD BLESS ALL LUV & HUGS CONNIE
I learned this secret from a professional organizer (PO) who specializes in helping hoarders declutter. She had a client who would not let go of a ratty old sweater lying on the right side of the room. After several failed attempts PO tossed the sweater to the otherside of the room and they took a well deserved break. They began again this time on the left side. When the PO held up and asked about the same sweater the woman said, "Yea, get rid of that old dirty thing."
