Soda Addict?

I will admit that I am addicted to Coca-Cola. Diet Coke tastes DISGUSTING to me and Coke Zero is a little better, but still tastes weird to me. Recently, I discovered Diet Dr. Pepper. It is really good and doesn't taste diet-y at all! It really helps take the edge off my soda cravings and I don't have to worry about calories at all!

Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Don't be afraid to call a friend or family member and say "hey I'm about 2 seconds from eating this package of cookies, will you talk me through it?" They want you to succeed and will be more than willing to help.

Drink all your water - but not all at once.

Drinking a lot of water (4+ cups) within a short period of time (~30-60 mins) will prevent your body from using it properly. It is MUCH better to spread your water intake over the whole day. This allows your kidneys to use it properly, instead of releasing unprocessed water and dehydrating you. If you drink throughout the day while eating, you replenish both sodium and water in your kidneys to keep them functioning properly.

MUSIC IS THE BEST WAY TO GET YOURSELF MOTIVATED TO EXERCISE!

When I lost 70 pounds I knew I needed something to get me excited about exercising everyday. Each night, before bed, I compiled a playlist of my favorite songs for my workout the next morning. This literally, was what kept me going through my weight loss journey! Music can elevate your mood in an instant and make this process a lot easier! emoticon

Like yourself, love yourself, be yourself

If you don't have motivation, nothing else applies either. Accept a plateau (cause it happens), but push yourself just a bit harder and remember how good it feels to see that scale go down...even if just by one pound. Logging my food intake each day is my biggest motivator.

MOSQUITOES - That time of year!

A GREAT repellent is BOUNCE (in the orange box). It contains white oleander and mosquitoes HATE the smell. Tie one on you & you wonít be bothered by them. Wipe outside walls & surfaces like decks & cushion covers & youíll never see them. Donít use heavily perfumed shampoos, lotions, hairsprays or deodorants.They also LOVE dark colored clothes, so don't wear.

The Magic of Dryer Sheets

You can use dryer sheets to remove bugs stuck on your car or to remove stuck-on food from pans. If you have a hard to clean pan put some hot water, a little dish soap and a bounce sheet in the pot and let it soak for 10 minutes. The mess should wipe right out of the pan.

For the days we go to bed crying....

Losing weight has huge peaks & lows and it's during these times that we give up. What you are feeling is normal. I urge you to be a little easier on yourself. I had my share of tantrums but, no matter what I just stayed consistent with my exercise. This process can be more mental than physical, at times so go to bed tonight envisioning yourself in 6 months. Keep doing what you're doing no matter how much your old habits try to lure you back. emoticon
