Dip your fork!

Order your dressing on the side and dip your fork into your salad dressing! You'll taste dressing in every bite and when you're done, the side of dressing will look like you didn't touch it!

Visual Motivation in a Jar!

Keep a clear glass jar somewhere you see it all the time and put in it a penny for every 1lb of weight you lose. Seeing number of pennies in the jar growing is excellent motivation, just be sure to take them out if you gain - not wanting to remove any pennies is a great way to keep yourself on track!

The Team Huddle

Huddle with all of your teams every day. It will serve the same purpose as a Huddle in Football. By the time you have gone to each team you will have read/ and heard in you head Go Team! Woo Hoo! You can do it! Make it Happen! Even (especially) on days where I feel like a lump the Huddle gets me up and exercising.

Watermelon

When I'm hungry I eat watermelon. It's low in calories, high in water content and a good source potassium and a very good source of Vitamin A and C.

My salad trick

When I am eating salad, I keep the dressing on the side and dip my fork into it before spearing some veggies. I taste the dressing without overdoing it with the calories!

How can you make healthy habits stick?

Try this cool mental motivator:

Predict you will eat better and work out more next week and you probably will, according to a recent study in the Journal of Consumer Research. The reason is that once you turn wishful thinking into a plan of action, that goal feels more accessible and your behavior becomes more consistent with your ideal.

Simple, but it works! Self-predictions can help reinforce good habits and disrupt bad ones.

No real secrets; just back to basics and careful tracking

There is no "secret" to losing weight with SP. SP isn't a diet, it's a weight management program which gives you the information and the tools you need to change the way you eat, cook and exercise, while supporting you every step of the way. I found SP purely by chance, through a reference in a magazine article. I've lost 17 lbs. so far and plan to lose at least another 13, then learn to maintain that weight loss for the rest of my life. emoticon

Keep the Water Coming

Every time I empty my 8 oz. glass of water, I refill it right away. Then it's sitting on the counter conveniently reminding me to have more every time I pass by, and I find it easier to drink a whole glassful if it isn't quite refrigerator cold.

Eating out/pre bag leftovers

My favorite eating out tip is to split entrees with a friend. If you want different entrees split the entree and have it put in a doggie bag first. That way you do not have the temptation to eat more than you want.
